⚽ World Cup Arts & Crafts at Riverview Lodge ⚽

Our residents recently enjoyed a fun World Cup-themed arts and crafts session, spending time painting, colouring, and getting creative with football-inspired designs.

The activity sparked plenty of conversation, laughter, and friendly discussion about football, while giving everyone the chance to express their creativity and enjoy a relaxing afternoon together.

At Riverview Lodge, we love providing activities that bring people together, encourage creativity, and make each day enjoyable for our residents.

Here are a few photos from the session – we think everyone did a fantastic job!

🇬🇧 D-Day Commemorations at Riverview Lodge

Our residents recently enjoyed a wonderful visit from the D-Day Dollies, who delivered a fantastic live performance featuring classic songs from the wartime era.

The event provided a special opportunity to commemorate D-Day, reflect on an important moment in history, and celebrate the courage and sacrifice of those who served. Residents thoroughly enjoyed singing along, sharing memories, and soaking up the wonderful atmosphere created by the performers.

A big thank you to the D-Day Dollies for bringing such energy, nostalgia, and entertainment to Riverview Lodge. It was a truly memorable afternoon that brought smiles to so many faces.

As part of Dementia Action Week, we’re exploring how meaningful activities can make a difference.

In this part of Irene’s journey, we explore how music therapy plays an important role in daily life.

These sessions support physical wellbeing, boost mood, encourage social connection and bring moments of joy.

Watch to see how engaging with music can make a meaningful difference.

This week at Riverview Lodge Care Home, we proudly recognised Dementia Awareness Week by celebrating the joy, individuality, and meaningful connections of our residents through a variety of engaging activities.

From lively karaoke sessions filled with singing, dancing, and laughter, to fun “Guess the Character” games that encouraged conversation and memory recall, it has been wonderful to see our residents actively participating, socialising, and enjoying special moments together.

Throughout the week, residents also took part in bingo, quizzes, trivia games, reminiscence sessions, and our meaningful “Key to Me” sessions, all designed to support wellbeing, encourage communication, and celebrate each resident’s personal life story, interests, and experiences.

At Riverview Lodge, we understand the importance of providing activities that are not only enjoyable, but also purposeful and person-centred. Meaningful engagement can help promote confidence, reduce isolation, encourage cognitive stimulation, and most importantly, bring happiness and comfort to those living with dementia.

Dementia Awareness Week is a reminder that every person living with dementia has a unique story, personality, and voice that deserves to be valued, respected, and celebrated every single day.

Thank you to our amazing residents and dedicated team for making this week so special.
