The Ancient Order of Druids was revived in 1781 in London as a modern version of the early Druids. It is the oldest druidic society and one of the oldest fraternal organizations in the world.

Its aims are those of a friendly society with rituals and ceremonies, in order to preserve and practise the main principles attributed to the early Druids, particularly those of justice, benevolence and friendship.

The lodges run their own Convalescent Home Fund for the benefit of members and their wives, there is also an Annuitants Fund for brethren in need.
