World Scout Scarf Day 2025 ❤️⚜️

On 1st August 2025, Scouts around the globe proudly celebrate World Scout Scarf Day, commemorating the first-ever Scout camp held on Brownsea Island on 1st August 1907.

All Scouts are encouraged to wear their Scout scarf as a visible symbol of their commitment to the values of Scouting. It is a day of pride, unity, and global brotherhood recognized and celebrated annually by Scout organizations worldwide.

Our scouts re-erected a fallen totem pole at Danemead District Campsite.

This totem pole was donated to Danemead by Chingford Cub Scouts some time around the year 2000, Grace and Ian who were District Cub Scout Leader and ADC (cubs) at the time organised a smarties tube collection to “add a place in the forest”. It has overlooked the campfire circle for at least twenty years until in needed resetting. Hopefully it will stay for another long period. Grace found the carpenter who carved this interesting log feature.

The pole is around seven foot high.

Well done our scouts for undertaking and successfully completing this task.

This evening the 32nd Chingford cub pack were warmly hosted by the 10th Chingford cub pack for a joint Halloween night!

Some great efforts with the costumes, some games a roaring campfire with a classic campfire sing-song.

A great time had by all. Many thanks to our good friends the 10th Chingford Scouts, Cubs and Beavers for your warm hospitality.

Yesterday 4 of our cubs made history moving on to our scout troop, investing with the new adapted scout promise, no longer doing their duty to the Queen (RIP) but to our new king. Jacabus, Molly, Napo and Thomas all recited the new promise perfectly guided by scout Jacob. The scout media team attended to mark this historic moment!

Rip and god bless the queen

We’re deeply saddened by the death of Our Patron, HM The Queen. A dedicated supporter of Scouts, Her Majesty has been a peerless role model for our young people.
