After centuries of constitutional history, tradition, and continuity under the Crown, the words “His Majesty’s Government” are being replaced with the bland, bureaucratic label “UK Government.”

The monarchy is not a decorative extra in Britain; it is the constitutional foundation of our system, the enduring link between past, present, and future, and a reminder that government serves the nation rather than itself.

Removing “His Majesty” from official branding weakens that visible connection to duty, service, and continuity that has defined British governance for generations.

You do not modernise a country by stripping away the symbols that hold it together.

You do not strengthen democracy by quietly sidelining the institution that stands above party politics and safeguards constitutional balance.

Many of us are proud to live in a kingdom, not merely an administrative territory called the “UK.” And we will not pretend that removing “His Majesty” is meaningless, because symbols matter.

If you share these concerns, do not remain silent.

Write to your local Member of Parliament and ask them to defend the continued use of “His Majesty’s Government” in our national identity and official branding.

Today we extend our warmest wishes to Her Majesty The Queen on the occasion of her 78th birthday.

This week also marks a moment of historic significance, as Her Majesty was formally appointed a Vice Admiral of the United Kingdom, the first woman in history to hold this distinguished Royal Navy rank. The appointment reflects Her Majesty’s longstanding support for, and connection with, the Armed Forces.

As part of the celebrations, the crew of a Royal Navy submarine HMS Astute, of which Her Majesty is the proud sponsor, presented a birthday gift, a light-hearted and affectionate tribute to naval life beneath the waves.

Canadian Regiment Undertakes Prestigious Royal Duties

Troopers from Lord Strathcona’s Horse (Royal Canadians), an esteemed armoured regiment based in Edmonton, Alberta, are presently performing the distinguished role of The King’s Life Guard in London.

The regiment is temporarily assuming these ceremonial duties on Horse Guards Parade, Whitehall, relieving the British Household Cavalry until mid-July.

Clad in the traditional ceremonial uniform, the Canadian soldiers are upholding centuries-old traditions, offering a rare spectacle for both London residents and visitors.

This is only the second occasion on which Lord Strathcona’s Horse has fulfilled this prestigious responsibility, further strengthening the historic bonds between the United Kingdom and Canada.

Official Memorial for Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II Announced

A striking new national memorial honouring Queen Elizabeth II has been officially unveiled. The winning design, created by the renowned architectural firm Foster + Partners, will be located in St James’s Park, London.

At the heart of the memorial is a translucent bridge, inspired by the diamond tiara worn by Her Majesty on her wedding day. This “Unity Bridge” will symbolically link two new commemorative gardens: one dedicated to the Commonwealth, the other to the nations and communities of the United Kingdom.

The memorial will include:

A figurative statue of the Queen and Prince Philip together, standing at the newly named Prince Philip Gate on Birdcage Walk.

A separate equestrian statue of the Queen, visible from The Mall.

The transformation of Queen Elizabeth II Place into a prominent public space of reflection.

The project seeks to embody the values Her Majesty upheld during her 70-year reign – duty, unity, and dignity – while offering the public a place of remembrance and inspiration.

Construction is expected to be completed by 2028, with a ceremonial unveiling planned for April 2026, marking what would have been Her Majesty’s 100th birthday.

Happy Birthday to His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales.
