Last night, Hannah paid us a visit at Monday Club and led some of our volunteers and members through a flash first aid workshop.

We were reminded of the First Aid procedures for CPR, choking, Epi pen use and bandaging.

Daniel was very keen to have a photo of him pressing the button on the defibrillator 🥳

Thank you, Hannah, for kindly guiding us through this refresher and we look forward to having you back in the future!

Every year since 2023, Lewisham Mencap have been honouring and sharing the cultural legacy of the local Caribbean community that many of our members are connected to.

In 2026, our members with learning disabilities, their families and carers are in for a new kind of treat: a fun and inclusive dance workshop delivered by local creatives from IRIE! dance theatre.

Special drinks and snacks will also be on the menu in our newly improved venue: window blinds have been installed to keep us cool during the Summer months and colourful bunting will be adorning our walls.

When and Where?

This year’s event will be running on Tuesday, the 23rd of June from 6pm at St. Augustine’s Church in Grove Park during our Tuesday Club.

Our very own DJ Colin will be opening the party with a special range of iconic island tracks and hits!
