Ya Karim, Allah is so Generous, and we are in a state of gratitude for His Generosity.

For the past four years we have seen the Collective grow into a beautiful healing community for Black Muslim women.

We will be on a collective rest from September until after Ramadan. This means we will not host any programmes or events, with the exceptions of two Healing Circies in October and January.

This collective healing and work is in service of Allah’s generosity and many of us have benefitted from the transformational work of the collective. Our collective rest is also in service of His Generosity. Our rest is an embodiment of shukr, a way of clearing our hearts and minds and asking Allah through our stillness and silence to allow us to continue to receive and give from His Generosity.

It is not easy to rest or to challenge the normalisation of the exhausted Black women, but it is an essential part of the healing work. With this in our hearts we have decided to collectively rest which will be a means of processing, resting and reorientating our hearts so that we can deepen the future work of the collective

We pray that we are able to return to you with our energies shored up and new opportunities for us to gather, be seen, heard, and to continue healing.

“Oh our Lord Allah Who is in Heaven, Holy be Your name, Your will is done in heaven and on earth; as Your mercy is in heaven, bestow it upon the earth. Forgive us of our sins and our wrong ways. You are the Lord of the good. Send down mercy from You and remedy from You to heal upon this pain, so that it is healed up.” (Sunan Abi Dawud)

In one of our Healing Circles, we asked the question - who is a friend you’ve been deeply seen by and saw in return? What was that like?

Events at Black Muslim Women Healing Collective often in corporate dua writing so that we can ask what we want for ourselves and others, and allow it to be heard and affirmed by the collective.
