๐Ÿ“ฉ Been called for jury service?

If you've received a jury citation, it's important to respond to it. Jurors are selected at random from the electoral register, and failing to respond could result in a fine. Jury service plays an important role in helping the justice system work fairly.

You may be able to apply to be excused or have your service deferred in certain circumstances, such as work commitments, medical reasons, or a previously booked holiday.

The colder months are coming, and energy bills have just gone up. ๐Ÿ’ก

The Ofgem energy price cap increased by 4% on the 1st of October.

With temperatures starting to fall and households using more heating, the cost of keeping your home warm can put extra pressure on already stretched budgets.

Strong communities are built before emergencies happen ๐Ÿ’™

This month, Citizens Advice Brent took part in a London Resilience workshop looking at how charities and community organisations support residents during major emergencies.

When unexpected events happen, people can suddenly find themselves struggling with housing, money, benefits, employment and accessing essential services.

That's why it's so important that trusted local organisations are involved not just in responding to emergencies, but in planning and preparation too.

As one speaker put it:

"Community resilience can't simply be switched on when an emergency happens."

We're proud to work alongside organisations across London to help build stronger, more resilient communities.

Meet the Team: Adio, our Deputy CEO ๐Ÿ’™

Every day starts with a plan... but according to Adio, that plan usually changes as soon as the inbox opens!

As Deputy CEO, Adio supports staff and volunteers, works with partners and funders, reviews services and helps make sure Citizens Advice Brent can continue delivering the support local residents need.

"The role is varied, challenging and rewarding. No two days are the same, and that's what I enjoy most."

More Meet the Team stories coming soon.
