🌟 Hope for Education by Lyca Gnanam Foundation: Rebuilding Young Futures After Disaster 🎒📚

The Badulla District was among the regions most severely impacted by the recent Ditwah floods and landslides 🌧️, leaving countless families displaced and causing the loss of homes, belongings, and vital educational materials. 💔🏠
Children in these affected communities faced immense challenges, with many losing their school supplies and struggling with uncertainty about continuing their education. 👧🏽👦🏽

In response to this urgent need, the Lyca Gnanam Foundation (LGF) stepped forward with a school bag distribution programme 🎒✨, aimed at supporting children’s education and restoring hope for a brighter future. This initiative ensured that students could return to school with dignity, confidence, and essential learning resources 📖✏️.

The distribution took place at Mangaiyar Karasi Vidyalayam, Abaragala Tamil Vidyalayam, and Warwick Tamil Vidyalayam within the Rendapola Grama Niladhari Division 🏫. Approximately 420 students received school bags filled with essential stationery items and exercise books 📝📚.

The programme was attended by Development Officers from the Walimada Divisional Secretariat, officials from the Walimada Zonal Education Office, school principals, teachers, parents, and students—bringing together nearly 850 participants 🤝🌈.

As these villages were among the hardest hit by floods and landslides, this initiative played a crucial role in supporting the educational recovery of children 🎓💙. Through this meaningful effort, the Lyca Gnanam Foundation reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to child-centred education and long-term recovery in disaster-affected communities 🌱✨.
