The organisation was formed following a successful seminar to prepare ethnic minority organisations for contracts from statutory agencies.

The event was held on 28 June 2010 in Lewisham and brought together more than 30 local ethnic minority organisations with an interest in bidding for contracts and providing joined-up services to ethnic minority organisations rather than working in isolation, duplicating services, 're-inventing the wheel' and wasting resources.
