🌸 What would you do if you or a loved one experienced Islamophobia?

Many people don't realise they have legal rights, reporting options, and access to free support when faced with discrimination, harassment, or hate incidents.

Join us for a free community event hosted by the Islamophobia Response Unit (IRU) in collaboration with An Nisa Network, where we will discuss:

✅ Understanding Islamophobia and its impact
✅ Your legal rights at work, in education, and in public life
✅ How to report incidents safely and effectively
✅ The free support available to victims and families
✅ A practical Hijab-setting workshop with tips on keeping your hijab secure
✅ Free brunch and networking opportunities

📢 Did you know you have the legal right to access information organisations hold about you?

Many people don't realise that under the UK GDPR, you can ask employers, schools, universities, banks, the NHS, local authorities and other organisations for a copy of your personal data through a Data Subject Access Request (DSAR).

🔎 Want to know:
✅ What information is held about you?
✅ How your data is being used?
✅ Who it has been shared with?
✅ How long it will be kept?

A DSAR can be a valuable tool when trying to understand decisions made about you or when addressing concerns in the workplace, education, or other settings.

⏰ Most organisations must respond within one month, although this can be extended in complex cases.

At the Islamophobia Response Unit, we can provide DSAR support as an ancillary service for cases we are already handling that include Islamophobia.
