From an eight-week food bank initiative to supporting other charities—what a journey. 💛

This week marked the start of our weekly support for Hotspot Community Hub in South Harrow, providing fresh provisions as their food bank reopened after a year.

With our search for a regular driver still ongoing, our Founder and Director joined forces to collect and deliver the provisions, ensuring Hotspot had the food needed for its reopening and that clients wouldn’t go without. A delicious hot meal had also been prepared on site for the community to enjoy.

What began as a small initiative to help our local Burnt Oak community has grown into something we could never have imagined—supporting other charities and reaching even more people with food, care, dignity and compassion.

We are chuffed beyond words and incredibly grateful to everyone who makes this work possible, especially our valued partners, whose generosity helps us extend our reach.

Being able to serve so many communities is a privilege and a very proud moment for us. 🙏🏼💛

A lovely example of community spirit in action 💜

A huge thank you to everyone at who recently supported Burnt Oak Community Food Bank with a generous food donation.

From young children to senior citizens, members of the community came together, walked collectively and turned their steps into something that will directly support local people and families.

We’re incredibly grateful for the time, effort and kindness behind this donation.

Every contribution helps us continue providing essential food and support to those who need it.

A heartfelt thank you to Shishukunj London for reaching out to us and supporting Burnt Oak Community Food Bank with your incredibly generous donation. 💚🙏🏼

After serving 200 people at our food bank last week, our shelves are already in need of replenishing. Donations like this make such a meaningful difference and help us continue providing essential support to people experiencing food poverty within our community.

This charity is so much more than an organisation to me—it is a cause deeply rooted in my heart.

What began as an eight-week initiative in March 2021 has grown into Burnt Oak Community Food Bank: a welcoming place where local people can access food, practical support and a sense of community without judgement.

I am incredibly proud of everything we have achieved together and especially grateful for my amazing core team, whom I have the privilege of working alongside. None of this would be possible without the dedication of our wonderful volunteers, donors and supporters.

We are deeply grateful to the London Dangoor Awards for recognising the work we do, and to the Lord-Lieutenant of Greater London Sir Kenneth Olisa OBE, and Carrie Alderton, CEO of The Faith & Belief Forum, for presenting us with this prestigious award.

The evening brought together hundreds of charities and community organisations from across London, all doing extraordinary work to support people and transform lives. To stand among so many inspiring organisations, and to have our own work and impact recognised, was a truly humbling and unforgettable moment.

It feels even more special as we celebrate our 5th anniversary this year. Five years of supporting our local community, made possible by our incredible volunteers, donors, partners, supporters and everyone who has helped us along the way.

We would also like to congratulate the London Dangoor Awards on their 10th anniversary, celebrating a decade of recognising and championing incredible grassroots work across London.

This award belongs to all of you. Thank you for being part of our journey. 💜

• Potatoes, onions & carrots
• Tomatoes, avocados & aubergines
• Cucumbers & sweet potatoes
• Garlic, chillies, peppers & cabbages
• Apples, bananas, oranges & pears
• Peaches & nectarines

🥫 Cupboard Essentials
• Rice
• Dry & tinned lentils
• Tinned tomatoes & soups
• Chapati flour (atta)
• Long life milk
• Tea & sugar
• Poppadoms & condiments
• Protein bars

🧴 Additional Essentials
• Toiletries, including body wash
• Men’s boxer shorts

📌 Important reminders

• Bring your membership card, photo ID and proof of address
• Bring strong shopping bags or a shopping trolley
• All items are subject to availability and may vary depending on donations received

🎟️ Queuing & Tickets

• Please arrive from 1pm and queue on Playfield Road in the park.
• Tickets will only be issued from 1pm, no earlier
• One ticket will be issued per person present
• Please do not sit on residents’ walls or obstruct driveways, pavements or entrances
• Please respect our volunteers, who are following guidance from the management team

🚪 The food bank opens at 2pm and closes at 4pm.

Back to school is expensive enough without lunchboxes adding even more pressure 🎒🍎

⚠️ NEW QUEUING SYSTEM

Please read carefully as our queuing arrangements have changed.

⏰ Queuing begins at 1:30pm
• Please do not queue before 1:30pm
• At 1:30pm, clients should form an orderly queue in the park as directed by our volunteers
• Tickets will then be issued in queue order

🎟️ Entry from 2pm
• Entry will be in ticket number order
• Please remain in the queue and listen for your number
• If your number is called and you are not in line, you will need to rejoin at the back and receive a new ticket number

These guidelines help us keep the food bank safe and fair for everyone. Please follow the guidance of our volunteers and treat them with respect.
