Wonderful to hear our friend Tina Beattie on Sunday Worship this afternoon.

"Catholic theologian and Thought for the Day contributor, Professor Tina Beattie, unpacks some of the mysteries surrounding the Virgin Mary on a visit to one of the world's most important pilgrimage destinations: the historic Norfolk village of Walsingham".

Tina Beattie travels to Walsingham to explore the mysteries of the Virgin Mary.

The United States is now taking a hard look at the medicalisation of gender-distressed children.

Vice President JD Vance has highlighted a major new report from the US Department of Health and Human Services (“Wolves in White Coats”).

The report raises serious concerns that some hospitals and providers have been subjecting vulnerable young people to experimental treatments, driven in significant part by financial incentives. It also points to troubling questions about how these procedures have been billed to insurers and Medicaid.

Here in the UK, we hope this development will encourage those in our churches and further afield who have supported the proposed puberty blocker trial and the conversion therapy ban to pause and look again at the evidence - and at the risks.

As LGB Christians we care about the wellbeing of same-sex attracted people and about protecting children from irreversible harm.

We believe churches should be places of truth, compassion and careful discernment, not places that uncritically adopt contested medical approaches that lack robust long-term evidence.

If you share these concerns, please join us at the Westminster demonstration on 1 September.

Details and updates will follow. We hope to see many of you there.

It was great bringing over 40 men and women together yesterday at our first annual conference in Wolverhampton.

Fantastic organisation by Nikki Bekker and Mark Chater, and some wonderful insights from our speaker, Tina Beattie.

We were keen to find out how we can reach more people in our struggle against homophobia, and how we can continue to challenge gender ideology with respect and compassion.

Looking forward to next year!!

Rev Malcolm Johnson, who spent a lifetime supporting lgb people, challenging homophobia, and advocating for equality has died aged 89. He paid a heavy price for challengijng the complacent, hurtful status quo. The Guardian Brief Lives is limited to 400 words. So much more should be said in tribute.

Other lives: Clergyman who focused on helping homeless people and was influential in the Le***an and Gay Christian Movement
