De Beauvoir Sisters – A New Chapter for a Much Loved Local Group

Over the last 12 years, many of you will have known us as DBWI — through our community events, our pop up stalls, and of course our fabulous Christmas Trail. We’re excited to share that we’re beginning a new chapter as an independent women’s group: De Beauvoir Sisters.
It’s very much business as usual. We remain an inclusive, welcoming membership group for all women and trans women aged 18+. Our ethos is to build a caring and supportive community, creating a space where friendships grow and everyone feels they belong — all rooted right here in De Beauvoir.
We host a varied programme of talks and activities, meeting on the first Thursday of every month at 7.30pm.
Alongside our monthly gatherings, members also run a brilliant mix of interest groups: including Book Club, Walking Group, Culture Club, Crafty Creatives, Fitness Friends, and Supper Club.

Come and join us for a Decluttering Masterclass at our March meeting where we welcome Marine, a certified KonMari home organiser who will be helping us navigate the process of letting go of stuff.

Our first meeting of the New Year is on January 8th so a week later than usual because of the New Year falling on the first Thursday of the month. We are looking forward to an exploration of our inner you with our local friendly osteopath Sundip who visited us many years ago for a very enjoyable meeting. We will be reconnecting with our body's rhythms and structures to help us move into 2026 with greater ease and connection to the self.

It's our annual Brainy Birds Quiz this Thursday. Come and join us for some fiendish quizzing, plus mulled wine and home made mince pies, as we look back over the events that have shaped the year and enjoy some tricky puzzles along the way.
