🐾 OTIS UPDATE – SATURDAY 30/05 🐾

📍 Three weeks on, Otis is still missing from the Bickley / BR7 area.

⚠️ Whilst there have been no confirmed sightings, that does not mean Otis is no longer nearby. Frightened dogs often become increasingly difficult to spot as they settle into quiet routines, avoid people and only move when they feel safe.

🦊🐦 We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who feeds foxes, birds or other wildlife, or knows of regular wildlife feeding locations in the area. Food sources can attract a range of animals and may also help us better understand potential movement routes and areas where a small frightened dog could remain unnoticed.

🏡 Please continue to keep an eye on your gardens, sheds, outbuildings, under decking, dense shrubs, hedgerows and other quiet spaces where a small dachshund may take shelter.

📢 Please also keep talking about Otis. Sometimes information is shared between neighbours, dog walkers, gardeners or local residents without ever reaching the owners.

🔎 Any information, no matter how small or uncertain it may seem, could help us build a clearer picture.

Otis, a brown miniature dachshund, went missing on Sunday 10/05/26 after escaping from a garden in the Bickley area.

👀 If seen, please report sightings immediately and, if possible, keep visual contact from a distance.

🚆 Otis is missing close to the railway line, so we are asking anyone travelling by train through the Chislehurst / Bickley area to please keep an eye out during their journey, especially along embankments, vegetation and trackside areas.

🎄✨ Christmas Message from Missing Animals Support and Advice ✨🎄

This Christmas, we want to take a moment to say thank you 🤍
To every supporter, new and old, who has stood alongside us, shared a post, sent a message, kept an eye out, or simply cared.

Since November 2023, we have helped many animals. None of this happens without people like you. It’s those quiet acts of kindness that help dogs find their way home 🐾 and cats find their way to safety 🐱.

We also hold space for the animals we’re still waiting for. The ones we don’t yet have answers for. The families who are still hoping. Every single share matters. Every post keeps them visible. Every person who notices gives them another chance 💔➡️🤍.

As much as we celebrate the happy endings, we also remember the animals who didn’t make it home, and the families who carry that loss with them. They mattered. They are remembered. Always 🕯️.

Even when the posts slow down, the work continues. From helping animals move to safety, to supporting rescue spaces, fostering and home checks, there is always something happening quietly in the background. Rescue doesn’t pause for Christmas and neither does care.

We want to give a special mention to the incredible people across rescue who quietly step in, drop everything, and just make things happen. You save lives in ways most people never see. Without you, so much of this simply wouldn’t be possible 🤝🐾. We wish you the very best of health and happiness for 2026 ✨.

The best news to share… Luna has been safely secured by her owners this morning.
After days of worry, sightings, messages and late-night checking, she is finally safe where she belongs.

A massive thank you to everyone who messaged, called, shared posts and reported sightings. This reunion happened because people cared and took the time to act.

This one really does feel special.

She was last seen on the evening of Tuesday 16/12/25, around the Bromley Civic Centre area, BR1

Luna is scared and trying to stay out of sight.
Please keep looking out for her, especially in quiet corners, gardens, car parks and green spaces.

Calling, following, approaching or trying to grab them is scaring them and causing them to move areas very quickly.

We believe the dog may be using railway lines as quiet corridors to move around unseen.
👉 Do NOT panic, do NOT call them, and do NOT attempt to intervene, especially near the tracks.
Trespassing on railway lines is illegal and extremely dangerous, and can carry a fine of up to £1,000.

If seen near the railway, do not approach. Alert station staff or call Network Rail: 03457 11 41 41.

🖤 BELLA – 284 DAYS MISSING 🖤
Darenth Country Park ➝ Safely Trapped 29.10.25

⏱️ Missing: 284 days

On 18th January 2025, Bella disappeared from Darenth Country Park.
A young, nervous girl, she bolted out of fear and just like that, she was gone.

In the first 24–48 hours, there were sightings around the park’s outskirts.
Drones were launched, thermal imaging cameras deployed, cameras put out, and volunteers searched day and night.

Then, on 22nd January, one last confirmed sighting gave us hope Bella was seen running near Sutton-at-Hone, heading toward home.

But she never made it.

Her harness was still on her.
And after that moment she vanished.

💔 The Silence That Followed

After the 22nd, Bella disappeared completely.

📅 Days passed. Sightings stopped. Her trail went cold.
Her owners never gave up, but every day without news took its toll.

On 31st January, a black dog was reported near Crockenhill Lane.
Our team investigated posters placed, cameras set, residents checked in with. But again, nothing confirmed.

💬 Had someone picked her up?
💬 Was she still out there… or lost forever?

We followed every lead.
Every “maybe it’s her” sighting, every black dog reported we looked. But it was never Bella.

🔎 The Breakthrough – 28th October 2025

Out of nowhere, everything changed.

A kind lady from Farningham had been feeding a black dog for weeks. She assumed it belonged to a local farm until she spotted a faded DogLost poster. Something clicked. She got in touch.

That same night, she kindly bought and set up a camera.
And when the footage came through there she was.
Bella. Alive. Still out there.

The plan was set.

📅 Tuesday 28th October

The MASA team mobilised. Cameras and a humane trap were set, calm, quiet, and safe.

Then, in the early hours…
📸 29/10/25 — 01:10 AM
Bella stepped on the plate. The trap shut.
She was finally safe.

284 days missing.

Skinny. Infested with some unwelcome guests.
And her underarm was sore from a deep, early-stage infection beneath her embedded harness.
We cut it off the moment she was home and the relief on her face said everything.

“She went missing back in January, and since then we’ve been searching and holding onto hope.

Recently, a kind lady recognised her from a poster and got in touch. She had been looking out for Bella and even bought a camera so we could confirm it was her.

We’re forever grateful for her help and for the support we received from both Missing Animals Support & Advice (MASA) and DogLost, who helped with advice and posters when we feared she had been stolen.

It’s a huge relief to have her back, and we still can’t quite believe she’s really here. 🩷”

At the very last moment, Niall pulled it out of the bag and found a rescue placement for this boy.

He is friendly, dog-social with calm intros, and simply needs structure and a chance. Transport can be arranged, and a fixed support fund is available.

Here we are again… another young life at risk, another dog out of time.

🚨 FINAL CHANCE – RESCUE PLACEMENT NEEDED 🚨

This stunning 8-month-old boy is sitting in a Kent pound, completely unaware that his time is almost up. He is scheduled for euthanasia on Tuesday unless a rescue placement can be secured.

💛 Just a baby — full of promise, waggy-tailed, and desperate for someone to give him a chance.

🐾 No issues with other dogs — friendly and open with calm intros. He’s just young, bouncy, and hasn’t been taught much. No manners yet, but no malice either.

🏡 He needs structure, kind leadership, and a safe space to learn and grow.

📍Currently in Kent – UK-wide transport can be arranged

💷 A fixed support fund is available to help with initial boarding or vet costs — enough to get him safe.
