On the 11th of May, Her Royal Highness Princess Benedikte of Denmark, the Patron of The Olave Baden-Powell Society (OB-PS), was the guest of honour and keynote speaker at a private charity event at Epicurus Jazz Club (epicurus_cph) in the heart of Copenhagen.

Alexa Bruun Rasmussen (alexabruunrasmussen), OB-PS Board Member, businesswoman, and charity auctioneer, was the source behind the evening. The event raised 500 000 DKK (approximately £58,000 GBP) for the Olave Baden-Powell Society's tireless work. It will be used to support the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS, wagggsworld) to empower girls and young women.

Alexa, was supported by two other strong business women; OB-PS member Yvonne Seier Christensen () with her husband Lars Seier, part of Epicurus, and Christine Bergstedt (christinebergstedt), Nordic Director of Federated Hermes. Both played an important role in putting together this exclusive event hosting the Danish art and business life.

A special part of the evening was the Jazz concert by the amazing American Shelby J. (therealshelbyj), a singer and songwriter known for her outstanding voice and work with her mentor, Prince. She began her concert by sharing that she too had been a Brownie, and reiterating the importance of supporting young women. She was joined by a stellar trio: Ken Linh Doky (piano), Felix Pastorius (bass), and Jacob Hatholt (drums).

A huge thank you to all the generous donators and sponsors who made the event such a success! It was a truly unforgettable occasion 🙏🏻💙

Friday Highlight ✨

We’re ending the week by celebrating the incredible Ann Charles, who completed the London Marathon for WAGGGS on Sunday 26th April 2026! 🏃‍♀️💙

Taking on 26.2 miles is no small FEET (see what we did there) and Ann showed true determination all the way to the finish line, even when things got tough!

In her own words:

“It was an amazing day… until my knees completely locked up at mile 15.

Although it was a struggle from there, the silver lining was being able to enjoy the course and the amazing crowds…

I’ve never felt anything like it when all of London is out cheering like that! Truly a memory to last a lifetime.”

Through it all, Ann kept going - raising vital funds to support the WAGGGS Member Organisation in South Sudan with their membership fees. Thanks to her efforts, girls and young women will continue to be able to access safe spaces, leadership opportunities, global experiences 🌍

✈️ Taking to the skies for girls around the world!

On 11 June 2026, Gill Clay will take on a daring Wing Walk to raise funds for the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts.

Gill – the granddaughter of Lord and Lady Baden-Powell – has spent her life involved in guiding and scouting. Now she’s climbing onto the wing of a vintage aircraft to help ensure more girls everywhere can experience the confidence, skills and friendships guiding brings.

She’s aiming to raise £10,000 to support girls and young women worldwide.
