Alhamduilllah, what a fantastic start to the new academic journey! Our Parent-Student Induction Day has been a great success, welcoming families ahead of the first official teaching week and ensuring students and parents have the information, guidance and support they need from day one.

🌟 EXCITING TIMES: HELP SECURE A PERMANENT CENTRE FOR THE COMMUNITY!🌟

Yesterday, we shared the difficult news that our time at the KMY Centre is coming to an end. 💔

And the response from our community was overwhelming.

We received message after message from young people, parents, volunteers, supporters and community members sharing their memories, their sadness and what KMY has meant to them.

And perhaps, for the first time, many of us truly felt what it means to lose KMY.

To lose a place where friendships were made. To lose a place where young people felt safe.

To lose a place where confidence was built, opportunities were discovered and memories were created.

To lose a place that, for so many, had become home. 💔

But what if we didn’t have to feel this way again? What if we could build something that no landlord could take away from us?

What if we could create a place that belongs to the community, not just for today, but for our children, our children’s children, and generations to come?

🚪 ONE DOOR HAS CLOSED. ANOTHER HAS OPENED.

We are incredibly excited to share that an opportunity has arisen to secure a permanent freehold site for our community. 🏢💙

This is not another rental. This is not another temporary solution. This could be a permanent home for our community.

The site is large, in a fantastic location and has huge potential to become a long-term community hub, supporting young people, hosting activities and services, creating opportunities and providing a space where our community can come together for generations.

Yesterday, we said: “When one door closes, another opens.” Today, we can tell you that another door has opened.

But there is a very real challenge:

⏰ WE NEED TO ACT. AND WE NEED TO ACT NOW.

Opportunities like this don’t come around often. We cannot afford to let this one pass us by. This is where our community comes in.

🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE 💔

A bittersweet goodbye to our Youth Centre 😢

For many years, the KMY Centre has been so much more than just a building. It has been a home, a safe space, a place to grow, connect, learn and belong, and for many, it has been a lifeline.

We are incredibly proud of the journey we have shared together. Our award-winning Youth Centre has welcomed hundreds of young people and community members every week, with around 15 weekly activities taking place throughout the year, alongside careers fairs, workshops, community events, support services and so much more.

The impact of this space has been immense. We have watched young people build friendships, develop confidence, discover opportunities and create memories that will stay with them for years to come. ❤️

Sadly, we have reached a point where our rental period is coming to an end, and we will soon be vacating the premises. This is undoubtedly a difficult and emotional moment for our community, and we wanted to share this news with you directly.

There is so much to be grateful for. So many memories. So many lives touched. So many incredible people who have walked through those doors.

But while this chapter is coming to an end, we truly believe that every closed door opens another. 🚪✨

This isn’t the end of our journey, it is the beginning of a new chapter. As we look towards the future, if you are able to support us in any way, we would love to hear from you. Every bit of support could make a difference. 💙

We want to thank every young person, parent, volunteer, staff member, partner, supporter and member of our community who has made the Youth Centre what it is. You are the reason it became a home.

Please keep us in your duas as we look ahead to what comes next. 🤲🏽 Thank you for the memories. Thank you for the journey. And insha’Allah, the best is yet to come. 💙
