Men Who Talk

Men Who Talk "Men Who Talk" is a registered charity which offers a unique space for men in the UK to talk

Founded in January 2022 by Samuel Davies, "Men Who Talk" offers a unique space for men to talk and support each other across a range of different topics and issues. "Men Who Talk" was founded in recognition of the need to engage men in the UK more with support services. Although men make up a significant number of referrals to mental health units, and su***de is the biggest killer of men under 45,

many services still struggle to engage men in a meaningful way. "Men Who Talk" offers a different, less intensive space where men can support each other, sharing what they wish. This is not counselling or therapy, but a chance for men of all backgrounds to see that it is OK to receive help and to talk to others. Head to our website menwhotalk.org for more information and to sign up to one of our support groups today!

It is okay to talk about your emotions.

Struggling silently can make things feel heavier than they already are, but you do not have to go through it alone. Opening up is not weakness, it is a step toward support, clarity, and connection.

Men Who Talk exists to create safe spaces where men can speak freely, share what they are carrying, and feel heard without judgment.

You are not alone in your struggles, and support is always available when you are ready to reach out.

Many men can find mental health support, but they struggle to engage with it.

The barrier is often not availability, but experience. If a space feels unfamiliar, overly formal, or uncomfortable, it becomes harder to open up, even when support is needed.

That’s why approach matters just as much as access.

Men Who Talk creates peer-led spaces and simple conversations where men can talk openly and be heard without pressure or expectations.

If you feel like you need a space like that, you are welcome to join.

This is something many people
experience in high-pressure work environments where
being constantly switched on is mistaken for being
productive. But sustainable performance doesn’t come
from burnout. It comes from balance.

Taking real breaks, slowing your breathing between
tasks, and allowing your nervous system to reset can
actually improve clarity and output at work.

And when things feel like too much, talking it through
can help too.

Men Who Talk connects men through open, supportive
conversations where you don’t have to carry it all
alone.

For entire generations men were taught to exclude emotions. But, emotions aren’t weaknesses, they’re signals that deserve space to be heard. Talking about what’s going on can be one of the most powerful ways to process it.

Men Who Talk connects men through open, supportive conversations where you can speak freely and realise you’re not alone in what you’re going through.

These are often your body’s early signals that something isn’t right.

Listening to those signals matters. The sooner we acknowledge them, the easier it is to take a step toward support and recovery.

If this resonates with you, you don’t have to handle it alone. Men Who Talk offers supportive group spaces where men can speak openly, share their experiences, and connect with others who understand.

Sometimes the first step is simply letting it out.

Mental health is often widely supported in conversation until it involves conditions that are less understood, more complex, or harder for people to relate to.

Things like addiction, personality disorders, or psychosis are still surrounded by stigma, misunderstanding, and discomfort. And because of that, many people facing these struggles feel even more isolated.

But mental health does not become less valid because it is complex.

Support should not depend on how easy something is to understand.

Men Who Talk exists to challenge stigma in all its forms and create spaces where men can speak openly, no matter what they are dealing with.

Every experience deserves understanding.

The most common feeling after opening up about your mental health is this. Like you're looking for attention. It's normal because your brain learned to bottle emotions so much that a normal conversation feels like too much exposure.

Living with constant emotional weight was never meant to be normal.

Men Who Talk creates spaces where men can talk openly, without judgment, and start unlearning the idea that speaking up is wrong.

You are allowed to talk about what you are going through.

This is why creating space for honest conversation matters. Men Who Talk exists to challenge stigma and connect men through open, supportive conversations where they can speak freely without judgment.

It’s not about “manning up.” It’s about speaking up.

But, we also salute and support those men that are going though this phase alone.

A lot of workplace stress goes unnoticed because it doesn’t always feel like stress.

It feels like being busy. Constant deadlines. Back-to-back meetings. Staying late. Always being available.

Over time, busy becomes the normal way of working even when it is actually sustained stress in disguise.

When this becomes a culture, people stop recognising their limits until burnout shows up.

Men Who Talk works with organisations to help teams recognise these patterns early and create healthier conversations around mental health at work.

Because being constantly busy should not be the standard and it should not come at the cost of wellbeing.

Somewhere along the way, burnout stopped being seen as a warning sign and started being mistaken for ambition.

Working 15-hour days, skipping meals, missing time with loved ones, sleeping 4 hours, and staying constantly “on” has slowly been normalised as a standard of success in some work cultures.

But this isn’t ambition. It’s depletion.

And when this becomes the expectation, it doesn’t just affect individuals, it shapes entire workplaces into environments where exhaustion is rewarded and recovery is ignored.

Men Who Talk works with organisations to challenge this culture through workplace mental health training, helping teams build healthier, more sustainable ways of working where performance doesn’t come at the cost of wellbeing.

Because real ambition should never require burnout.
