A family holiday. An unexpected fall. A complex international claim.

Today we are spotlighting the first of three case studies from our Cross Border Personal Injury team involving injuries caused by unsafe and hazardous flooring. ⚠️

Lyn Wesley was injured after slipping on a wet surface beside her hotel swimming pool in Spain whilst on a package holiday. What followed was a hard-fought fight for justice. Establishing liability meant investigating Spanish safety standards, instructing specialist expert evidence and overcoming complex issues around evidence from overseas.

James Riley, national lead for the Cross-Border personal injury team said: “Unfortunately the kind of resistance that was shown by the package tour company in Lyn’s case is common. Lyn’s determination and resilience to seek justice following her accident is a testament to her, and I’m very pleased that we were able to support her through her case and achieve such a good result.”

The court ultimately found in Lyn’s favour following a trial, awarding her a significant five figure sum in compensation, plus interest and legal costs. ✅
