Hi All,

Councillors got an email at 11.20am from Bexley Council to say the Eastern Way, Plumstead westbound, is closed due to a jack-knifed lorry in/around the area at the elevated Harrow Manorway roundabout.
The closure will remain in place over the weekend and into next week, although the Erith eastbound route is open.
The lorry is being removed and a diesel/fluid spillage cleaned. Police and council staff were on/at the scene.
Structural checks will also be carried out.

*PEABODY/RESIDENTS MEETING*

*Date*: Wednesday, October 29th, 2025

*Time*: 6pm - 8pm

*Location*: The Nest, Cygnet Square, Thamesmead SE2 9FA

I’ve persuaded *Peabody’s* top management team to hold a public meeting with *residents* about serious problems that affect the housing association’s areas and buildings in *South Thamesmead* (Cygnet Square, Lesnes Estate, Kale Road) as a whole.
At a number of *residents*’ association and other meetings l’ve been to, lower-ranking *Peabody* staff have said some questions about policy and direction can only be answered by those above them.

*This is an opportunity for you to make your voice heard by those at the top of Peabody regarding issues residents have long been critical about, and hopefully get answers and commitments to actions that will be taken to address problems*.

I will chair the meeting and the agreed agenda is:

1. Crime and anti-social behaviour.
2. Repairs. (Slowness/inadequacy)
3. Damp, mould and leaks as a systemic issue.
4. Youth provision.
5. Any other business

*Local police officers* will also be at the meeting and will participate in the discussion about crime and anti-social behaviour.

*Please share this message with others to whom it may be of interest*.

*Buses*: 177, 180, 229, 244, 301, 401, 472, B11

*Parking*: Yarnton Way (restrictions may apply)

*Train Station*: Abbey Wood
