Today the Sanctuary Team met with the wonderful Dean and Grace from South London and Maudsley NHS’s Southwark SUN Project - a Su***de Prevention and Crisis Peer Support group for adults aged 18-65 who live in Southwark or have a GP in Southwark.

This peer-led service aims to support those who struggle with complex emotional needs, anyone needing support with their mental health or those in crisis. The group is open access, by self-referral only and there does not have to be a diagnosis to attend. SUN is not therapy, 1-2-1, and all support and advice offered is from the group members within a group.

They currently have two groups running weekly across Southwark;
🗓️ Wednesday afternoons
⏰ 2:15-4:45pm
📍 Camberwell Green Library

🗓️Friday mornings
⏰ 10:30am-1pm
📍Canada Water Library

For our theme for the year is
During the week we will evidence how valuing can improve the support people receive by seeking to learn from their unique perspectives. We will explore how placing the wants and needs of a person at the centre of the support they receive can improve the services they use, but also how drawing on their lived experience has contributed to positive change across social care.

Men’s Peer Group
A space away from stigma and assumptions.

Where honesty isn’t weakness,
and vulnerability becomes strength.

A place where men show up as they are,
and grow through open and safe conversations.
