Emergency Burial Appeal for Nejla Isci and Mohamed Wurie - Please help give our sister and brother, a dignified Islamic burial.

Nejla's Story
Sister Nejla Isci suffered from health problems for most of her adult life. She was divorced and single handedly raised her two children. Nejla was admitted into a West London hospital suffering from the effects of diabetes and arthritis. Unfortunately, Nejla couldn't pull through. She was 67 years old and originally from Turkey.

Her son contacted a mosque in north London requesting support to bury her mother. The mosque signposted Nejla’s children to the Muslim Burial Fund. We reassured the children that we will help lay their mother to rest.

Mohamed's story
Mohamed Wurie faced many challenges throughout his life. He suffered from cancer for a long time, requiring frequent hospital visits. Although he had been in poor health, his death came as a shock to the family as he unexpectedly passed away at home.

Struggling with the cost of the funeral, his only son reached out to the Muslim Burial Fund for financial assistance and support in arranging the funeral. The Muslim Burial Fund reassured his son that we would provide the necessary support and financial assistance, with the help of the Muslim community.

Janazah and Burial Date: Friday, 14th August, 2026

All our appeals do not reflect the actual costs in laying a deceased person to rest. These costs are normally in the region of £4,000 to £5,000. Each of our burial appeals are currently subsidised at £1,750 per burial from the funds received from TV appeals, website and digital platforms. Any surplus funds are used to help others reaching End of Life or assist with burial support

Emergency Burial Appeal for Khaled Beidas and Serife Mahmut - Please help give our brother and sister, a dignified Islamic burial.

Khaled Beidas

Khaled Beidas was 63 years old, of Palestinian descent. He had never married and had no family in this country. Khaled suffered from terminal cancer, and was in and out of hospital the last 9 months of his life. His neighbour and friend did what he could to help Khaled and, upon his passing, reached out to the Muslim Burial Fund to help bury Khaled in a dignified way.

Serife Mahmut

Sister Serife Mahmut was a carer for her disabled son. She lived with her family in East London and was also a full-time mother for her other children. Serife had a cardiac arrest and was rushed into hospital. Unfortunately Serife could not pull through. She was 63 years of age, and her family were originally from Cyprus.

Serife’s family were distraught as they did not expect to lose their mother so soon or have the means to lay their mother to rest. They had contacted their local authority who then referred Serife’s daughter to the Muslim Burial Fund. We reassured the family that we will support them during their time of need.
