Emergency Burial Appeal for Akm Shamsul Alam and Lateef Adeyemi - Please help give our brothers a dignified Islamic burial.

Akm Shamsul Alam

Akm Shamsul Alam was 72 years old, originally from Bangladesh. He used to work as a businessman. A few years ago, he came to the UK to be closer to his family as his health began to deteriorate.

For a long time, Akm suffered from a number of serious health conditions, including diabetes, heart problems and liver cirrhosis. In his final months, he was under palliative care and sadly passed away at home today surrounded by his loved ones.

At this difficult time, his family are not only coping with the loss of a beloved father and relative, but also the financial burden of arranging his funeral. His daughter approached the Muslim Burial Fund for assistance, and we have assured them that we will help lay our brother to rest in a dignified way.

Lateef Adeyemi

Lateef Adeyemi was 39 years old and originally from Nigeria. Around two years ago, he came to the UK with his wife in search of a better life and new opportunities. He worked as a kitchen porter and was known as a hardworking man.

On what seemed like a normal day, Lateef did not show up to work one morning, which was unlike him. After no one could get into contact with him, police had to break down his door. In a tragic turn of events, he had passed away alone at home. At present, the cause of death is still unknown.

His wife and brother, his only family in the UK, are left devastated by the news. On top of this, they are faced with the overwhelming costs of his burial that they cannot afford. The Muslim Burial Fund stepped in to assure them that we would assist in laying him to rest according to his Islamic rites.

Emergency Burial Appeal for Anfal Alenezi and Taiye Sh*ttu - Please help give our Sister and Brother, dignified Islamic burials.

Anfal’s Story

Sister Anfal Alenezi was alone, she had already lost her husband in August 2025 however Anfal would also join him as she was found unconscious in her bedroom. Anfal had passed away, five months after her husband's death. She was only 35 years old and from Kuwait.

Anfal had no friends or family to help her in her time of need. A further five months would pass until the local authority would contact our community, requesting help for Anfal’s Muslim funeral.

The Muslim Burial Fund had previously supported the burial of Anfal’s late husband, and with your support, we intend to lay Anfal to rest, next to him, in accordance with her rights as our Muslim Sister.

Taiye’s Story

Taiye was a husband and a father to two young children. A retired firefighter, he faced many health challenges. After developing a muscle condition, he became wheelchair-bound for the last 17 years of his life.

Over the years, Taiye endured kidney failure, then developed heart failure and suffered repeated infections. Due to the weakness of his heart, doctors were unable to perform the operation he needed.

Following his passing, aged just 45, a close friend contacted the Muslim Burial Fund to explain the severe financial hardship facing Taiye’s family. We have assured Taiye’s family that, with the support of our community, we will honour his final rites and provide him with a dignified Islamic burial in accordance with our faith.

Emergency Burial Appeal for Ali Kader Gingi and Shahnaz Bibi - Please help give our brother and sister, dignified Islamic burials.

Ali Kader Gingi

Ali was 60 years old, originally of Cypriot descent. He lived a very difficult life, struggling with homelessness and other issues when he came to the UK. Eventually, he was diagnosed with cancer which left him in a care home. It was in this care home where he eventually returned to his Lord. His mother who is over 90 years old and disabled herself, was met with this devastating news. With no means to bury her beloved son, the Muslim Burial Fund has assured her that we will assist in laying our brother to rest according to his Islamic rites.

Shahnaz Bibi

Shahnaz Bibi was diagnosed with stage 4 Metastatic Cancer of unknown origin only 5 weeks ago. This devastating news came as a shock to the entire family. Shahnaz was placed on end-of-life care and her family put everything aside including work, to take care of her during her final weeks. Her son reached out to the Muslim Burial Fund as they have no financial means to cover the cost of their mother’s Funeral and Burial. The Muslim Burial Fund has reassured the family that we will honour their mother’s last rites and lay her to rest according to our faith in Islam.
