THE JOURNEY OF SPLAOCH HAS BEGUN.

Together We Are Building Stronger Families & Safer Communities

At SPLAOCH Care Foundation, we believe no parent should suffer in silence and no child should be forced to become an adult too soon because of illness, disability, or crisis within the home.

Parenting through illness can be physically exhausting, emotionally overwhelming, and deeply isolating , especially for single parents navigating chronic pain, long term health challenges, mental health challenges, disability, hospital admissions, and financial pressures while still trying to hold their families together with love and dignity.

Through our “Let’s Speak About It” Early Intervention & Safeguarding Campaign in April 21st, we are creating safe spaces where vulnerable families can be heard, supported, empowered, and connected before crisis escalates.

We are deeply grateful to everyone who attended our recent SPLAOCH Safeguarding & Early Intervention Roundtable at John Smith House, Barking. Alongside residents, professionals, councillors, and the Metropolitan Police Met Engage Team, important conversations were held around hidden young carers, parenting through illness, safeguarding concerns, lack of early intervention, and rebuilding trust within communities.

Every voice mattered. Every story was heard.
This is only the beginning.

No parents left behind
Young carers are reduced
Parents supported through illness
Children protected from trauma and instability

Protecting Families. Preventing Crisis. Building stronger Futures.

SPLAOCH IS HERE.

Your identity is not determined by your purpose or assignment.

your assignment is not to proof your identity or get validation,

Your identity is with God and to serve his mandate.

so Keep smiling no matter the storm . You are more than enough and your only limit is yourself.

GRATITUDE MESSAGE FROM SPLAOCH* 🙏🏻❤️

At the SPLAOCH Safeguarding & Early Intervention Roundtable Campaign
Live at John Smith House, Barking
Tuesday, 21st April

• Every voice mattered.
• Every story was heard.
• This is what community looks like
• this is what change feels like
• And this is only the beginning.

32 concerned citizens came together to speak truth, share lived experiences, and be heard alongside key stakeholders including councillor Dominic Twomey, Leader of Barking & Dagenham Council, the Metropolitan Police (Met Engage Team). and multi agency professionals and parents.

Your presence, insight, and willingness to engage in honest, solution-focused dialogue made this event truly meaningful.

This was not just an event.
certainly Not a conference.

It was an honest and necessary conversation about the realities vulnerable families are facing.
from parenting through illness to young carers carrying responsibilities beyond their years.

*Key Issues Raised*
• Systems not designed with lived experience in mind
• Lack of early intervention leading to crisis and family separation
• Hidden pressures on parents with health conditions
• Young carers taking on adult responsibilities too early
• Poor communication between services
• Lack of visibility and awareness of support
• Need to rebuild trust between communities, police & systems
• Limited inclusion of lived experience voices
“Families are not failing , systems are reaching them too late.”

*What Needs to Change*
• Early, preventative intervention
• Stronger multi-agency collaboration
• Clear and visible support pathways
• Rebuilding trust with communities
• Removal of young carers in the system and replaced with early intervention community volunteers

*GRATITUDE*🙏🏽
Thank you to all professionals, partners, Metropolitan Police, councillors, parents, young carers, volunteers, especially our board members and supporters who made this possible. This is just the beginning.

*A SPECIAL THANKS TO SARAH ROBERTSON CEO OF FUTURE MOLD COMMUNITY AT JOHN SMITH HOUSE BARKING FOR THE PROVISION OF THE SPACE USE FOR THIS MEANINGFUL GATHERING.*

What an honour for SPLAOCH to be featured on the UK Metropolitan Police website following our recent Safeguarding and Early Intervention Campaign Roundtable, delivered in collaboration with the Met Engage Team in Barking & Dagenham, East London Abey ward

Working alongside the Metropolitan Police Service, our shared commitment remains clear: to strengthen safeguarding approaches and better protect vulnerable individuals and families in our communities.

This partnership reflects the importance of speaking up and ensuring lived experiences are heard. When voices are raised, the right people listen—and real, visible solutions begin to emerge.

To everyone who supported this mission, both behind the scenes and on the frontline, thank you. Your contribution matters.

We will continue to speak, advocate, and push forward until systems serve our people better.

And NO!! Giving up is not the answer.

Because YOU are not a victim you are a survivor.

Stand proud in your resilience.

Take back your power and wear your crown.

Warmest Hugs to everyone.
