Maharashtra Mandal London was honoured to host the renowned vocalist Sawani Shende for a memorable live concert on Saturday, 16th May 2026 at Maharashtra Bhavan, London.

The evening was a beautiful celebration of Indian classical and Marathi musical traditions, where music, culture and emotions came together in perfect harmony. Through her soulful singing, expressive artistry and graceful stage presence, Sawani Tai created an unforgettable musical experience that deeply touched every listener in the auditorium.

The concert featured a rich and diverse musical presentation including:

🎵 Thumri & Dadra
🙏 Bhajans & Abhang
💫 Ghazals & Semi-Classical Melodies

Each rendition carried depth, devotion and elegance, while the talented accompanying artists added immense beauty and vibrancy to the performance. The overwhelming response from the audience reflected our community’s shared love for music, culture and togetherness.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Sawani Shende Ji and the entire team for presenting such a magical evening. A sincere thank you to all attendees, volunteers and supporters whose contribution made this event a grand success. 🙏

🚩 Maharashtra Day Celebration 2026 – Celebrating Culture, Unity & Pride! 🚩

Maharashtra Mandal London successfully hosted a spectacular Maharashtra Day 2026 celebration at Maharashtra Bhavan, London, bringing together the vibrant spirit of Maharashtra right in the heart of the UK.

We were privileged to welcome:
✨ Mayor of Brent, Cllr Ryan Hack as the Chief Guest
✨ Commodore Muralidhar Bhaskar Dongre, Defence Advisor at the High Commission of India
✨ Shriram Ambarka, First Secretary (Science & Technology and Political-Internal), High Commission of India, as Guests of Honour.

It was an honour to celebrate this special occasion with distinguished leaders, members of various Indian diaspora communities, and more than 450 Maharashtrians who joined us with immense enthusiasm and pride.

The celebration showcased the richness of Maharashtrian culture through:

One of the biggest highlights of the evening was the vibrant flash mob on the latest song “Naman Tula” by Mrs. Amruta Fadnavis, which filled the venue with energy and excitement.

Guests also enjoyed a wide variety of authentic Maharashtrian delicacies and specialty food stalls that added delicious flavours to the celebration.

A heartfelt thank you to all performers, volunteers, sponsors, vendors, and attendees for making this event such a memorable and successful celebration of Maharashtra’s heritage and unity.

It was a distinct honour to meet the First Lady of Maharashtra, Mrs. Amruta Fadanavis, over a gracious lunch hosted by Mr. Anil Agarwal (Chairman & Founder, Vedanta Group) at his residence in London on 24th April 2026.

The afternoon was marked by thoughtful conversations and inspiring company, reflecting both warmth and distinction. An occasion that felt truly special in the presence of such eminent personalities.
