Today we celebrate the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, a feast that reminds us to reflect on a love defined by compassion, dignity, and unwavering service.

For over 130 years, St Francis Leprosy Guild has worked in that same spirit - standing with people affected by leprosy, ensuring people receive treatment, care, and the chance to rebuild their lives.

On this special day, we pray for all those we serve and for everyone who helps make our work possible. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus inspire us to serve with compassion, courage, and hope.

Leprosy is curable.

A combination of antibiotics can stop it in its tracks. But when left undiagnosed, it can lead to visible, life-changing disabilities, affecting not just health, but dignity, livelihood, and belonging.

Early detection and treatment are absolutely critical.

No one should suffer needlessly from a disease we know how to treat.

Help us reach more people.

He's arrived! What an epic pilgrimage Phil has had. Here's an update from him:

'I’ve arrived in Rome at the end of the Via di Francesco. It’s been a wonderful walk, closely linked to the life of this amazing saint who seems so relevant to our times of conflict and ecological crises. I’m grateful to everyone who helped me raise funds for the St Francis Leprosy Guild. Pax et bonum!'

You can still donate towards Phil's adventure or to say 'well done' through the link in our bio.

Thank you so much for following along and showing your support. We know it means a lot to Phil and also to our partner's here at SFLG working to make leprosy a thing of the past ❤️

Wonderful to have an update from Phil on his walk! As he says, it's so special to walk a pilgrimage that has such a focus on a particular saint.

As well as his calling to serve those with leprosy, St Francis also cared very deeply for our natural world. It's week this week and we particularly praise God for the nature around us as St Francis did. We pray for Phil as he continues his journey on this beautiful route 🌿🍃🙏

Phil is smashing it and has made the halfway point on the pilgrimage along the way of St Francis in Italy. Look at the street art he found of St Francis caring for someone with leprosy 🥰 Here's an update from Phil:

'I had a rest day in Assisi to visit the basilica with its beautiful frescoes. It rained all night and there was snow on the mountains in the morning so I took the lower route. The sun came out followed by a hailstorm. I was glad to reach a really welcoming hostel in Foligno. On tomorrow to Trevi!'

Please continue to support Phil through the link in our bio 🙏

Phil's pilgrimage is going so well and he's making strides (quite literally!) slowly but surely to Rome! Here's an update from him:

'Ciao ragazzi! Yesterday I reached the beautiful city of Gubbio. The weather has been more variable and yesterday it rained all day. Only 3 more walking days to Assisi, then on to Rome. There are lots of pilgrims walking the way from all over the world and we have some great shared evening meals and conversations along the path.'
