BelgraveOne is a community of Romanian scale-up founders and shakers in tech, united by a strong interest in entrepreneurship and innovation. The members are carefully selected and the access in the community is made by invitation only, to guarantee a quality experience. We bring together experienced game-changing founders of revenue-generating businesses with investors from influential organisati
ons, innovators from private corporations and public institutions, looking to grow and build innovative businesses through partnerships. To help members connect, forge new friendships and collaborations, BelgraveOne hosts a series of regular events. These provide regular opportunities to meet and mingle, inspire each other, share ideas, stories, knowledge, experience and expertise and have fun together. The knowledge-centric events also facilitate learning (from experts and each other) and pitching. Our Manifesto
We believe that magic happens when like-minded people meet, learn and collaborate. We also believe in a future in which Romanian tech founders with revenue-generating companies can easily access the skills and support to scale their business efforts in the UK. That is why BelgraveOne aims to act as a support system for Romanian tech scale-up companies looking to unlock growth potential in the UK. By leveraging the power of a strong start-up and innovation community, BelgraveOne expands networks, builds bridges, fuels growth ambitions, fosters collaboration and strengthens ties between Romania and UK by connecting innovative scale-ups with opportunities. Gradually opening the community to entrepreneurs from other countries, especially those in Emerging Europe, we aim to ensure an extensive, multicultural exchange of experience in our events. We also aim to accelerate tech-centric innovation and accelerate growth. The community is not only a platform for networking and collaboration but also a platform for growth, accelerating the entire ecosystem. As members learn and develop new skills, create bridges and partnerships and scale their businesses, they ultimately design a better future for society and the economy. We believe in:
Contribution - Give first/ Pay it forward/ Give before you get philosophy. In the startup world, Give First means simply trying to help anyone—especially entrepreneurs—with no expectation of getting anything back right away. The community members are happy to serve and pay it forward - seeking first to support each other, NOT to get something back right away but aware that when one contributes, they will be rewarded, often in unexpected ways. Community first - The long term interest of the community matters more than the individual interests of each of the participants. Activities driven by self-interest that might result in trust and reputation damage are not tolerated - eg. aggressive pitching outside dedicated events, harassing community members with repeated help requests during/ outside community activities. Community first also means protecting the interests of the community members - this includes holding information in confidence. Inclusiveness - This is an inclusive community, mainly set up to support founders of scale-up businesses to grow and connect to the broader ecosystem. The community is mainly targeted at experienced scale-up businesses with Romanian founders who enter or are already in the UK. However, we also welcome early-stage start-up founders and entrepreneurs passing through the UK. Everyone is here to contribute their ideas, support, expertise. Positivity/constructive feedback - We are here to support each other and it’s important that everyone feels safe to share freely. For this purpose, we all aim to encourage constructive feedback and a positive, encouraging atmosphere in the community. This being said, honesty matters as well as the ability to challenge each other for the better. Commitment to the community - show up, contribute, take turns, be responsive when asked for help. Be honest with where and when you can help. Expand the community - involve others.
