You can expect to leave the Black Parent Expo with practical knowledge about your rights, confidence advocating for your child and access to help within your community. More information to follow in the coming weeks ℹ️

Find the new dates for the *free* Education Advocacy Drop-ins as we continue supporting Lewisham Black families through the Parent Empowerment Project ✊🏾

These monthly support sessions provide direct guidance for parents/carers, whether you need help with SEND support, school applications, behaviour plans, exclusions or simply navigating the education system 🚸

SIRG is hosting a free online Careers and Post-16 Pathways workshop for Black parents, carers, and families in Lewisham who are supporting a young person with SEND.

This session will help you:

✔️ Explore diverse education and employment pathways
✔️ Understand the services and support available up to age 25
✔️ Gain confidence in advocating for appropriate post-16 provision

📢 Calling all parents, carers, teaching professionals and school staff!

Join Janet Daby MP to have your say on the Government's 2026 Schools White Paper on SEND reforms.

There are plans to invest £3 billion in SEND infrastructure and staffing, representing a substantial change in how SEND students will be supported.

The reforms must reflect the needs of those involved in SEND provision and the challenges they face.
