Last week, we were fortunate to receive complimentary tickets for The Lion King production at the Lyceum Theatre through a contact at Active Communities Network (ACN).

Active Communities Network originated as a small group of project workers with a shared commitment to addressing inequalities experienced by marginalised communities. Since then, it has developed into a national organisation delivering meaningful social impact across a range of initiatives.

The tickets were allocated to four parents who have experienced a particularly difficult year due to inadequate or disrupted educational provision for their children. Each of these parents is caring for a child with SEND, and the aim was to offer them a brief respite from their ongoing challenges by providing an opportunity to enjoy an evening at the theatre.

Although the day was long, it proved to be highly rewarding, and the parents expressed their appreciation for what was a memorable and uplifting experience.

We are proud to be delivering the South East London (SEL) Voluntary Sector Led School Engagement Project in Lewisham, supporting Black and Mixed Black Heritage primary-aged children.

This programme focuses on early intervention and prevention, addressing the emotional well-being and mental health needs of children in ways that are culturally relevant, anti-racist and person-led.

Delivered by SIRG, in partnership with Black Thrive, NHS South East London
and 6 Lewisham primary schools. Brindishe Lee, Brindishe Green, Brindishe Manor, Good Shepherd, Lucas Vale, and Grinling Gibbons.

SIRG is proud to continue bridging the digital divide in our community

Thanks to the generous support of we’ve been able to provide computers to young people who would otherwise struggle to access the technology they need for school and everyday learning.

For many of our young people, having a computer isn’t just convenient. It’s life changing. It means:

Completing homework with confidence
Accessing resources and creative tools
Staying connected
Feeling empowered

This is what community partnership looks like.
This is how we lift each other up.
This is how we build brighter futures together

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our work, change really does happen when we act together.
