A year ago today we left Heathrow for Korea, not knowing quite where our journey would take us! 🇬🇧🇰🇷

We’ve loved seeing lots of members of our unit over the last twelve months at different Scouting events, hearing about your memories and the friends you still see regularly ☺️🦁 Us leaders have our next catch up planned for a few weeks time 🎬🍿

We had such an amazing time at this weekend, and the highlight was catching up with so many members of our unit! We also got to see members of Unit 71, Marcus, Caroline, and lots of our other friends from across Surrey 😁

It so was brilliant to see you all shining in your roles whether they were hosting the main stage, presenting on the radio, keeping the site clean and safe, or supporting your local groups! ✨

Hopefully it won’t be too long before we cross paths again! 🦁

After the leaders got selected for the Jamboree way back in September 2021, we met up for dinner to start to get to know each other before beginning this massive adventure together.

Last night we met up for laser quest (Graham was the winner 🏆 ) and went for a meal after, where we found ourselves at the same table. It seems crazy looking back at all we’ve done since that first meeting, and we never would have known what amazing friends we would become. Hopefully the members of our unit feel the same about the friendships they’ve made through the Jamboree.

We also got to catch up with Marcus, which we always love to do! 😁

It’s only fitting to end the round up of our reunion day with some unit photos (smiley one / silly one, as always) 🦁

It’s bittersweet ending our Jamboree journey, but this isn’t really goodbye. We’re sure we’ll see you around - there’s already been lots of talk about Scoutabout this summer and the next World Scout Jamboree in Poland! 😊

We’ve said it before but we’ll say it again, thank you for being the best unit we ever could have hoped for! 🦁

And thank you to everyone who’s supported us on this incredible adventure. All of the parents and families for their help, kind words (and delicious cakes), all the groups and organisations who helped with fundraising. Thank you Marcus for always going above and beyond with your support, and to Caroline, James and Kerry, and everyone at Surrey Scouts. Thank you to Unit 71 for being so roarsome, and the UK team for everything they did before and in Korea 🇬🇧🇰🇷

We had such an amazing time at our unit day today! Thank you to everyone that came and made it such a laugh 🦁

For our last official unit event we got started with a game, ate lots of pizza, signed each others photo books, and made extravagant desserts to celebrate the last two years. We finished off by reflecting on the whole experience and sharing memories 🍕🍰📘🇰🇷

Merry Christmas from everyone in Surrey Saja! We hope you have a lovely time however you spend it! 🎄🎁✨

It’s been an incredible year, in many ways not the one we expected, but one that’s seen us grow as a unit and amazing individuals - much more than we ever could have imagined! For that we’re very grateful 😊
