IWGB members from the Charity Workers, Games Workers, and Foster Carers branches met in Glasgow this week to build solidarity across Scotland, sharing organising priorities and finding practical ways to back each other's campaigns. This is what cross-branch organising looks like. Want to get more involved in the union in Scotland? đź“© [email protected]

Every member is welcome at this one. 👇
The government's proposed 'earned settlement status' changes are an attack on workers. Immigrant workers built this union. We're not standing by.
On 12th March, journalist and author of Work Won't Love You Back joins our Charity Workers Branch meeting. She was on the ground in Minneapolis when workers and unions organised against ICE raids and drove a General Strike on 23rd January. She's bringing that story to us.

Then we ask: what does that mean for us here? How do we fight back against earned settlement status and protect the workers who built and run this union?

When our member Chloe was sacked for her Palestine solidarity, we fought and we won. She got her job back.
That's what collective organisation looks like.

Chloe Got Her Job Back!

This is a significant victory for workers and for solidarity with Palestine: and a reminder that when employers overreach, collective organisation works!

Charity workers see injustice every day. We will not be punished for confronting it.

As a union, we take a stance, we take action, and we protect each other.

Make is make sense! 1 hours left before Chloe's appeal. We are asking for her reinstatement and for them to meet with us. Yesterday members were leafletting outside offices in London in Glasgow , a lot of support for Chloe to be reinstated and shock at what has happened.

Chloe was sacked after taking part in a protest!

⏳ 18 HOURS UNTIL CHLOE’S APPEAL

So that you are clear about the facts:
Chloe has not been charged
No public profile linking her job to the protest
No complaints from service users

Chole went on a protest and then Sense sacked her

Let the CEO know what you think. Tag them publicly. Make it impossible to ignore.

On Friday 12.30pm, IWGB member Chloe has her appeal hearing after being sacked by disability charity Sense.

Her “offence”?
Holding a sign opposing genocide
Expressing solidarity with Palestine
Exercising her right to protest outside work

Chloe has not been charged with any offence.
There were no complaints from disabled people she supports.
Sense has produced zero evidence of reputational damage.

Yet they dismissed her anyway.

This is about bosses policing political expression, and setting a dangerous precedent for all charity workers.

⏳ Sense still has time to do the right thing.

No one should lose their job for wanting the end to a genocide.
John McDonnell has spoken out in support of Chloe's reinstating.
IWGB member Chloe was sacked for protesting the genocide in Gaza, in her spare time, away from work.
He told us...
"It is shameful that Sense, a disability charity, has sacked Chloe for her opposition to genocide in Gaza. The genocide has permanently disabled hundreds of thousands of Palestinians. Sense should stand in solidarity with them, as Chloe has, and reinstate her immediately.”
