This week we’ve been getting ready for our special stitching session at Dorich House Museum.

PARTICIPATORY NEEDLEWORK Dorich House Museum THURSDAY 24th Sept 11am - 2pm. FREE.

Join our Blue Cornflowers tapestry and take part in a special event in support of the European Heritage Days 2026.

The theme this year is “Heritage at Risk: Revive, Resist, Reimagine.”

“ ‘Heritage at Risk’ reminds us that our heritage is not static – it is a living, evolving part of who we are. By protecting it today, we ensure that future generations continue to be inspired, informed, and connected
through the stories of the past. “ European Heritage Days

Our large embroidery frame will be set up in the Modelling Studio on first floor. We will also display examples of folk textiles and traditional embroidery samples from Ukraine.

New participants are welcome to join in. No experience is necessary; we will provide all needles and threads and teach the cross-stitch technique. Just turn up!

Day 192, Flowers We Give To Ukraine - 13 Sept 2026.

Today all of our Ukrainian friends have returned from short visits to their homeland…It was so lovely to see everyone back together and very moving at the same time.

Over the weekend, we also visited our stitching group in Lewes/Uckfield and brought some wonderful gifts and stories to share about their tapestry.

“Masha’s and Natasha’s Flowers” is looking amazing!!!

Thank you Tetiana Subbotina for the beautiful presents and delicious borscht. We can’t wait to see you all in Kingston 💙💛
