Chislehurst Creates Chislehurst Creates is an annual community art event, raising funds for Chislehurst Commons.

New community arts and crafts day on the commons between School Road, Church Row & Watt's Lane, raising vital funds for the upkeep of Chislehurst Commons. Our first theme is 'The Magic of Nature' and the event will be held on Saturday 23rd September 2023, 1-5pm

Just one week until Chislehurst Creates returns to the Commons with a picnic 💜

Here’s a little look back at the fun last year. We can’t wait to do it all again next Saturday – with crafts, traditional games, Punch & Judy, our woodland trail, tea & homemade cake, Pimm’s and plenty of time to simply enjoy the Commons.

🎨 Crafty Corner tickets are £6 in advance (£8 on the day) and numbers are limited.

Yesterday we gave you a little sneak peek at what one of our volunteers has been busy making… and yes, it’s our Coconut Shy! 🎯🥥

It’ll be joining some of our other traditional games at Chislehurst Creates next Saturday and the games are completely FREE to play. ❤️

Sometimes the simplest games are still the best.

Our little spoon character is getting ready… are you? 👋

Join us on Saturday 5th September, 11.30am–3.30pm for an afternoon of creativity, traditional games, Punch & Judy and plenty of fun on Chislehurst Commons.

Join us at Chislehurst Creates on Saturday 5th September (11.30am–3.30pm) for a magical afternoon of exciting hands-on activities:

🎪 Create your own theatre
☀️ Make a wheel of seasons
🪀 Design a yo-yo just like you like it
🚩 Make a piece of bunting for our decorations for years to come
🌺 Hapa Zome - flower pounding
🫟 Decorate your craft box, which will ensure all your masterpieces travel home safely.

Refuel in our tea & cake tent ☕🍰 or at our BBQ… then keep creating while the adults enjoy a glass of Pimm’s.

Could you spare two hours for Chislehurst Creates? 💜

We’re looking for a few more lovely people to join our volunteer team for Picnic on the Common on Saturday 5 September.

You don’t need to be crafty! We mainly need friendly faces to help oversee our craft stalls, games and other bits around the event.

There are three two-hour shifts, so you can help us out and still enjoy the rest of your Saturday.

It’s a small amount of your time that makes a very big difference to a volunteer-run community event for local families.

We couldn’t do it without them. ❤️

A huge thank you to jdm Estate Agents, Chislehurst Society, Mills Care Group, The Crown, The Bull’s Head, New Mortgage Solutions and Due Amici for supporting Chislehurst Creates, Picnic on the Common this year.

Their support means we can put on a brilliant afternoon for local families, with Punch & Judy, traditional games and our woodland nature trail all FREE.

And if you’ve got a little crafter in the family, £6 gets them five crafts to make and take home. 🎨

Chislehurst Creates – Picnic on the Common

Sometimes the best family days are the simplest.

Pack a picnic, bring a blanket and join us for a relaxed afternoon together on beautiful Chislehurst Common.

Enjoy a traditional Punch & Judy show, follow the woodland nature trail, try classic games and let the children enjoy the freedom of playing outdoors.

The main event is free, with no booking required.

Don’t fancy bringing lunch? Food and refreshments will be available to buy throughout the afternoon, including a hog roast, tea, coffee, cake and Pimm’s.

Crafty Corner

If your little ones enjoy getting creative, add a Crafty Corner ticket to your day.

For £6 per crafter (£8 on the day) each child receives a specially prepared craft box with creative activities to make, decorate and take home. Enjoy them together on your picnic blanket or save them for later at home.

Crafty Corner tickets are limited, so we recommend booking in advance. Tickets may also be available on the day if spaces remain.
