Welcome to our studio shop this month for our PotLuck Pottery Showcase!

In Ellen’s work you can see the transformation of the material. It feels alive, fluid, you get a sense of capturing a moment of dynamic change. Peeling textures reveal earthy clay bodies gone through thermal forces intense enough to squeeze out pearls of feldspar. Ellen digs and processes her clay keeping the composition a reflection of a particular place.

Please come see Ellen’s and our other featured maker’s work on display this month Sunday 10-3pm.

Super pleased to feature David Martin at our shop this month for our 2026 PotLuck Invitational Showcase.

David’s dreamy hand drawn portraits feature figures on lightly glazed surfaces. Often solitary but sometimes with a canine companion. Beautiful as singular pieces but especially when seen as a collective, a gorgeous narrative unfolds with images of empty expanses and youthful freedom. David captures these quiet moments in his ceramic surfaces which are a delight to behold.

Our shop is open Sundays 10-3pm. Please pop by to see David’s work alongside our other featured artists and makers during our annual showcase.

We are so excited to present our third annual PotLuck Pottery Showcase!

To honour the history of our lovely studio we put together a showcase every year to both celebrate our anniversary on the street alongside the history of our building which was previously a family-owned shop named PotLuck.

Opening Sunday 19 April and running through to 31 May we are so pleased to welcome our featured new artists and makers! Please pop by to say hello and keep an eye on our feed to learn a bit more about their practices.

A beautiful collection by so pleased to be able to feature her work at the studio. Judit’s hand-carved stoneware pottery always feels to me like a warm summer’s day. The shop is open Sunday 10-3pm. Please pop by ☀️

Over the last few days the CRC team has been working hard breaking pallets, stacking pots and stoking kilns. Basking a bit in the sunshine and soaking in some new skills. It’s been so great working alongside our amazing team here at Columbia Road Clay. Another post about this coming soon but atm a bit sore from all that stoking😴

Hiiiiii and it’s March 🙃 studio keeps marching on. Welcoming new faces and loving time with our repeat potters. We’ve always got classes on join us if you’re needing some time with fingers in some sticky squidgy clay love. With all the goings on, those quiet days making, ever grateful.

Speaking of grateful. Bringing the CRC team on retreat this weekend. I know there’s a lot of studios out there and we share some of these lovelies but hands down best team. Happy to hand down some woodfire knowledge, a process near and dear to my heart, to those who help make this space a wonderful place to visit and learn.

Also! Not now but I’ll do a post for our featured artist this month. Maybe you’re already a lucky someone who’ve run off with a fabulous mug or pitcher. Her work is up at the shop, post or no post. See it Sunday.

All the always.
