9 Lives 1 Hope is made up of a group of volunteers who are passionate about helping stray, feral and street cats in countries around the world with little or no animal rights or protection. Our varied interests and experiences in rescue help us put together a global image of the problems homeless cats face around the world, and how we can help them! We started 9 Lives 1 Hope (9L1H) to raise awaren
ess for these forgotten cats, to help fundraise for their treatment / care, and to help encourage others to be kinder to local strays and help them as much as they can. To get involved in volunteering, fostering, and encourage adopting cats that are in need of a second chance! We believe that together we can make a big difference in the lives of these cats! As a non-profit, our goals are the following:
To manage and reduce overpopulation of cats and their suffering through TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) projects in countries abroad and also locally in the UK. To assist with medical expenses for surgeries and treatments of rescued cats, and aid in the supply of cat food for neutered stray and feral colonies. To raise awareness, provide information and educate the public on cat rescue, cat welfare and adoption both locally and abroad whilst connecting potential adopters with suitable rescues or rescuers that we have a trusted relationship with. We believe in transparency with our team and supporters, and 100% of donations are used to directly help the cats. Our Chapters:
We have partnered up with independent small rescues and rescuers who are very involved in rescue within certain countries. These are countries that either have no real welfare laws, or where existing laws are not well enforced. These countries all suffer from feline overpopulation, which can be helped through TNRs. Each country we aim to help has its own 'Chapter' on our website, so that we can really focus our efforts in a way that is tailored to each country's needs, based on the situation of the cats there. However as stated our primary goal are our TNR projects, regardless of the country as this is the most effective and beneficial for the cats health and welfare.
