❗️Today is the International Left Handers Day (August 13th), you might have a few left-handed friends around, but they might not know about it.

❗️This is partly due to the almost complete digitalization, and handwriting becoming less and less common. Throughout history lefties have been misunderstood and even mistaken for witches.

✅Here are some fun facts about being left-handed:

1️⃣This national day was created in 1976 by Dean R Campbell who is the founder of the Left-Handers International Inc.

2️⃣Did you know that 10% -12% of world’s population is left handers?

3️⃣Some cultures consider using the left hand as unclean or rude.

4️⃣Five out of eight most recent US presidents write with their left hand.

5️⃣ In the Middle Ages of Britain, left-handed people were considered to be practicing witchcraft.

6️⃣The word “sinister” comes from the Latin word “sinestra” for left, which were seen as unlucky or evil.

7️⃣In some regions schools still force left-handed writing students to use right hand.

8️⃣Brain imaging was able to identify a difference between people with a dominant left hand and right hand when working!

🆒Leave your comments to share your experience of being a lovely lefty or living with one of them. We are looking forward to seeing your stories. Happy International Left Handers Day!

❗️Due to the reason that the weather was very changeable during the weekends in , this can put remarkable effects on human mood, especially for . Frankly, there are many external factors that affect 🧒 behavior, multiple studies have shown that weather changes are one of them.

❗️Weekends are originally the best time for children to go out and experience nature, but the prominent rainy days often disrupted travel plans, for instance in it is quite often to see that various outdoor activities had to be cancelled or moved indoors due to the weather, which greatly affected children's interests of outdoor activities and mood.

❗️Whether you have ever noticed it or not, the relationships between kids and weather are close but subtle.

❗️The weather is uncontrollable, both teachers and parents need to help children adjust the frequency and method of physical exercise in different weather conditions, whether at school or being home.

❗️We would remind you to pay attention on the changes in the children's mental state in different climate stages, giving correct guidance at the appropriate time.

❗️Kids and fire safety❗️

❗️Teaching or talking to kids about fire can be very tricky and challenging. Therefore, patience, consistency and acting it out in form of game is necessary.

❗️Most importantly, teach kids never to play with matches, lighter and other sources of fire.

❗️Also, stay away from candles, stoves and other fireplaces.

❗️The following steps can be taken to teach kids about fire and fire safety.

❗️Way out: The main idea is to know your way out quickly and safely. Smoke from fire can make it hard to see where things are, so it’s important to learn and remember the different exits of your home and how to get to them from your room.

❗️Safety steps: If you are in a room with closed doors, check if there is smoke coming in from cracks or under the door. (This is to confirm if there is fire from the other side of the door)

❗️If you see smoke, do not open the door.

❗️If you don’t see smoke, touch the door and doorknob.

❗️If it is hot or very warm, do not open.

❗️If you don’t see smoke and the door and doorknob is not hot, slowly and carefully open the door.
❗️Run quickly to your escape route exit.

❗️Stay low: It is important to stay low to the ground (crawl with hands and feet), if you see smoke in the house.

❗️Know how to get out of the house: although door is the first exit route, also teach kids how to use windows if the door is hot.

❗️Teach them how to unlock windows, open them and remove the screen if necessary.

❓Can’t get out right away❓

💯Teach kids to shout out for help or call 999 with a phone. Do not hide as it will be difficult to find you.

❗️Additionally, keep smoke from entering through the door by blocking any holes or cracks around the door.

🆘Clothes on fire: If accidentally your clothe is on fire, stop, drop and roll. This will put off the fire from your clothes.

💚GOING GREEN: 8 ACTIVITIES TO TEACH SUSTAINABILITY IN YOUR CLASSROOM

💚Teaching sustainability in the classroom might be a challenging thing to do and to keep the children focused might be tricky. The teacher needs to grab the children's attention enough to help them understand the issue without making it boring or hard for them.

1️⃣ Back to basics of sustainable living.
Interactive activities might be the way to go, engaging pupils in activities like creating posters and art for the school, following a lesson about what resources are renewable.

2️⃣ Interactive Games. Exploring recycling as a topic will be more appealing and enjoyable for children, rather than sitting in a classroom and just listening.

3️⃣ Reuse plastic and other materials to create art! This activity will help to maintain a more sustainable lifestyle and learn to care more about what to buy.

4️⃣ Reward system and follow up. Before each lesson, the teacher can encourage the children to talk about their weekend or day and what they did for the environment through the week and give rewards accordingly.

5️⃣ Collaborative activities can be intriguing and enjoyable for older children. For example, the teacher could ask a group of students to investigate a sustainability issue in a certain country and suggest what can the country do to create help with sustainable life and encourage people to do the same.

6️⃣ Create a committee for sustainability. This is a hands-on initiative that can help children learn by doing and advocating sustainable living, e.g. creating a student committee to discuss how their school might be more sustainable. They can discuss issues such as selling canteen food in recyclable containers.

7️⃣ Start a class garden: this can help them more to the environment and learn how to take care of it. In this activity, they will be engaged every day. In addition, it will help them comprehend the process of growing food and the idea of sustainable agriculture.

8️⃣ Lead by example: teachers need to do the same thing that they are trying to teach them.

🇬🇧BRITISH SISTERS WHO JUST COMPLETED THEIR GSCE’s ARE IN THE OLYMPIC FINALS🇬🇧

❗️Jennifer Gadirova and Jessica Gadirova took Tokyo 2020 Olympics by storm.

❗️The twins are dedicated, disciplined, committed and hard-working towards their love of artistic gymnastics.

❗️The 16-year-old twins have experienced and practised many sports like football, swimming, and dancing. Still, the only sport they instantly fell in love with was gymnastics.

❗️Thankfully, their school has been very supportive of their gymnastics journey, which supported them in their sports and academic journeys.

Their teachers in the Aylesbury Vale Academy , Miss Fuller and Miss Pinker, showed their belief and support in the twins.

❗️The whole school is absolutely behind them. Miss Fuller and Miss Pinker believe that the twins will encourage and motivate other girls their age and younger to participate more in PE and sports.

❗️The twins have become role models to all the other girls at their school.

❗️By participating in Tokyo 2020, they are becoming a role model to many more girls worldwide.

❗️HEALTH AND SPORTS DAY IN JAPAN❗️

❗️After the two years of 1964 Summer Olympics the first Health and Sports Day was held on October 10, 1966.

❗️The reason to conduct the health sports day in october was to avoid the Japanese Rainy season.

❗️Later in 2000 the health sports day was moved to the second Monday in October. Health and sports day is a day that focuses and promotes good health, physical and mental well being.

❗️To encourage this day schools and businesses choose this day to conduct annual Field Day or Sports Day. The events consist of 100 meters or 4 × 100 meters relay and also the tug of war and “Cavalry Battle”.

❗️Celebrating Health sports day in Japan looks like a mini Olympics event. The festival includes traditional track and field events. 4 × 100 meters relay, 100m sprinting and long rugby-ball dribbling races, sack races, laundry hanging, three-legged races, cartwheels and many more.

❗️The opening event of this festival is the parade representing all the different teams that will be participating. The local marching brand proves the music for the parade and once the parade goes around the ground they line up in the middle, the brand will play Kimigayo and the Japanese flag will be raised.

❗️Later the parade and flag hoisting the local officials delivers an opening speech and following to that is a stretching session.

❗️This stretching session was developed by the Japanese government and is a daily activity of many people in Japan. And then the event begins.

❗️In the beginning of 2020, the Health and Sports Day was permanently renamed as Sports day as the sports day promotes more enjoyment rather than physical education.

❗️HUMANITARIAN TEAM encourages sport education at all levels and deeply supports the sustainable development of younger generations! Let’s bring change together!
