CASTING ANNOUNCEMENT | MEET THE NEW YOUNG JAMES BOND & WILDER LAWLESS

Big Finish Productions and Ian Fleming Publications have officially announced the two young actors set to lead the first full-cast audio adaptation of Charlie Higson’s Young Bond novel, SilverFin.

Isaac Rouse, who’s recognisable for his appearances in TV series including The Crown, Get Even, and Genius, and for playing Charlie Bucket in Sam Mendes’ stage adaptation of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, has been cast as James Bond, the young spy whose adventures at Eton first introduced readers to Ian Fleming’s iconic spy in his formative years.

Charlotte McBurney will star as the spirited and fearless Wilder Lawless, Bond’s equestrian ally and one of the novel’s standout characters. McBurney is known for her voice work in video games including the series A Plague Tale, for which she was BAFTA-nominated, and Final Fantasy XVI.

After a nationwide search involving more than 500 applicants, the pair were selected by writer-director Barnaby Edwards and the production team to bring these beloved characters to life.

SilverFin will comprise 16 half-hour episodes across two box sets and is due for release in October 2026.

007GB Club President ViewsFromMark recently had the exclusive opportunity to sit down with both Isaac and Charlotte to discuss stepping into the world of Young Bond, their auditions, and what listeners can expect from SilverFin.

This exclusive interview is coming soon, so stay tuned!

Robert Valentine, Producer, added: “When Isaac auditioned for us, in under a minute I was convinced we’d found our Young Bond. Isaac’s James Bond is very much in the Fleming mould, and even though he’s playing him as a young teenager, there’s every sense that he’s going to grow up to become the literary 007.

“Charlotte McBurney was everything we were looking for in Wilder Lawless and more. Wilder is a force of nature, and Charlotte absolutely brings that to the role. She can play young – Wilder is sixteen – but she’s mature, fiery and exactly the person James Bond needs to help him save the day.”

INSIDE GOLDENEYE WITH IAN FLEMING

Ian Fleming at his home in Goldeneye, Jamaica.

It was here, overlooking the Caribbean coastline, that Fleming created James Bond and wrote the novels that would introduce 007 to the world.

Long before the global phenomenon of the films, the music, the games and the cultural legacy that followed, there was an author with a typewriter, a vision and a character unlike any other in popular fiction.

These glimpses of Fleming at Goldeneye feel like stepping back to the very beginning of Bond history.

The man behind the world’s most iconic spy.

BORN ON THIS DAY: IAN FLEMING

On this day in 1908, Ian Fleming was born.

At his home in Goldeneye, Jamaica, Fleming sat down to write the novels that introduced the world to James Bond, a character who would go on to become one of the most enduring and recognisable figures in popular culture.

What began with Casino Royale in 1953 became something far greater than anyone could possibly have imagined. The books laid the foundations for a cinematic legacy spanning generations, inspiring actors, filmmakers, artists, collectors, gamers and millions of fans around the world.

Whether your connection to Bond comes through the original novels, the films, the music, the watches, the style, the locations, the video games or the wider world that grew around 007, it all traces back to Fleming’s imagination and the pages he wrote overlooking the Jamaican coastline.

More than seventy years after Bond first appeared in print, Ian Fleming’s creation continues to evolve, entertain and inspire.

Today, we remember and celebrate the man who started it all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, PIERCE BROSNAN | FOR MANY, THE BOND WE GREW UP WITH.

Today we raise a glass to Pierce Brosnan and wish him a very Happy Birthday.

When Brosnan made his debut as 007 in 1995’s GoldenEye, he brought a fresh energy to the role at a pivotal moment for the franchise. Sophisticated, charismatic and effortlessly assured, many saw him as one of the most natural successors to Sean Connery.

Across four films, GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough and Die Another Day, Brosnan crafted a Bond who could move seamlessly between sharp humour, romance, vulnerability and ruthless efficiency. Whether delivering a perfectly timed one-liner, facing off against formidable villains or stepping out in a tuxedo with unmistakable style, he defined Bond for an entire generation throughout the 1990s and early 2000s.

For many fans, Brosnan’s era was their introduction to the cinematic world of James Bond, helped further by the cultural phenomenon of the GoldenEye video game and a run of films that embraced spectacle, action and classic Bond escapism.

Happy Birthday, Pierce Brosnan from everyone at 007GB.

Sláinte!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO A TRUE BOND LEGEND: JOHN GLEN

Today, everyone at 007GB would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to the legendary John Glen; director, editor and one of the most important creative forces in the history of the James Bond franchise.

From editing On Her Majesty’s Secret Service and The Spy Who Loved Me, to directing five unforgettable Bond adventures from For Your Eyes Only through to Licence to Kill, John’s contribution to 007 is simply extraordinary. His work helped define an era of Bond filmmaking and continues to inspire audiences around the world to this day.

For 007GB, it has always been a tremendous privilege to enjoy John’s friendship and support across so many years. From attending club events and sharing stories with members, to championing the Bond community as a whole, John has been a steadfast supporter of 007GB right from the very beginning.

It was therefore only fitting that John became the inaugural recipient of the 007GB Bond and Beyond Lifetime Achievement Award, recognising not only his immense contribution to cinema, but also the warmth, generosity and enthusiasm he has consistently shown to Bond fans across the globe.

So, to the man who is always, without exception, “keeping the British end up”, we say… Happy Birthday from all of us at 007GB!
