Teenage Cancer Trust in the Midlands

Teenage Cancer Trust in the Midlands This is the official Teenage Cancer Trust page for the Midlands and Oxfordshire. We are more than Teenage Cancer Trust units.

We also provide:

Family support network
Teenage Cancer Trust’s family support network gives mums, dads, brothers and sisters the chance to meet other people who understand their situation at every stage of the cancer journey and beyond. Research
We fund the country’s first Professor of Teenage Cancer Medicine who leads research into why young people get cancer and how best to treat it, ultimately

improving diagnosis, treatment and survival rates. Education
Our education and awareness programme aims to educate every young person in the UK about cancer, prevention and healthy living, empowering them to take control of their own health. Find Your Sense of Tumour
Our annual conference is specifically for young people with cancer and gives them the chance to share experiences and learn more about their disease. Plus, 400 young people from all over the country in one place for a weekend…it’s pretty good fun too. International conference
We hold the world’s only conference focusing solely on cancer and the adolescent where experts from across the globe share information and research, helping to improve the lives of young people with cancer internationally. Medical courses
We fund courses for medical professionals at all levels, so they can improve how they treat young people with cancer.

“Teenage Cancer Trust units combine an expert team and the best possible therapy with the best possible environment for teenagers and young adults. And by focusing on quality of life, they can change a teenager’s outlook and give them the fight and attitude they need to beat cancer." To celebrate his 50th birthday, Dave set himself an incredible challenge: to run 5K every single day for an entire year in support of Teenage Cancer Trust. And true to his word, he hasn't missed a single day.

When asked if it has been difficult, Dave said:

"I run every day no matter what. It's hard, but I can't have a day off. Young people with cancer don't get a day off, so I won't either. Supporting Teenage Cancer Trust is so important."

We are in awe of Dave's spirit, determination and commitment to such an important cause. His passion for the charity shines through in everything he does, and it's easy to see why he is so loved by both his team and customers.

Dave has now reached the halfway point of his challenge and will complete his final 5K on 27th November – his 50th birthday (although we all agree he definitely doesn't look it! 😉). To mark the occasion, he'll be running through Swadlincote alongside his wife.

If you would like to support Dave and help raise vital funds for Teenage Cancer Trust, please get in touch. Every donation and message of support helps make a difference for young people facing cancer.

Dave, we are so proud of you. Your enthusiasm, dedication and determination are truly infectious, and you continue to inspire everyone around you.

Please join us in wishing Dave the very best as he continues this amazing journey and raises awareness and support for Teenage Cancer Trust. 💛

We’re incredibly honoured to have been chosen as their Charity of the Year and so grateful for their amazing support and generosity. Thank you also for the wonderful donation of £500 — every penny will help us continue supporting young people with cancer when they need it most 🌟

The incredible Andertons Music Co. are raffling off a Tobias Bass Guitar that's been customised by Danny Sapko! They sent Danny the Tobais Killer B V 5-String Bass Guitar, which he then customised with his signature, before returning it to Andertons for a 4-String version. Rather than letting the bass gather dust, Andertons have kindly decided to raffle it off to raise funds for Teenage Cancer Trust!

Raffle tickets are £5 each and can be purchased here: https://raffall.com/421574/enter-raffle-to-win-tobias-bass-guitar-customised-by-danny-sapko-hosted-by-andertonsmusicco
with all proceeds going to Teenage Cancer Trust. This raffle is open until Wednesday 27th May so get your tickets quick! 🎸💙❤🩵

We recently sent Danny Sapko a Tobias Killer B V 5-String Bass Guitar (much to his chagrin) and he turned it into a dipstick-graffitied masterpiece! The rebellious look now matches the epic bass tone! But we're not adding this to the Andertons museum, this piece of music history could be yours to ow...

A huge thank you and congratulations to our wonderful supporter Liz 💛

Most people celebrate turning 80 with a cake… Liz is celebrating by walking from The Globe Theatre in London all the way to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon 🥾🎭

Starting on 22 May, Liz will be taking on Shakespeare’s Way with friends Drin Godshaw and John Plant — who is an incredible 87 years young! Together they’ll walk through London, along the Grand Union Canal, across the Chilterns and on to Stratford, arriving on Liz’s birthday, 5 June 🎉

Liz has supported Teenage Cancer Trust for many years and we honestly can’t thank her enough. Her energy, determination and kindness mean so much to us and to the young people we support.

Good luck Liz — we’ll all be cheering you on every step of the way 🌟👏

What an incredible day supporting Teenage Cancer Trust at the Leicester Tigers game! 🏉💛

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of everyone attending, our bucket collection raised an amazing £2,643 — a truly fantastic result that will make a real difference to young people facing cancer.

We were lucky to have an enthusiastic team of 20 brilliant volunteers who brought energy, passion, and positivity throughout the day. To top it all off, we even got to meet the mascot, which made the experience even more memorable!

A massive thank you goes to Paul, Mairi, and the people who gave their precious time — you are absolutely amazing. Your support, organisation, and dedication made this event such a success, and we’re so grateful to work alongside you.

We’re already looking forward to teaming up again in the future. Thank you to everyone who played a part — you made it truly special! 💫

We are incredibly proud and grateful to share some truly amazing support from Amber Valley Memorial Park and Crematorium in Swanwick, Derbyshire 💛

Last November, they generously donated £5,000 to Teenage Cancer Trust — and now, they’ve gone even further by choosing to support us for a second year with an incredible £8,500 raised through their “Precious Metals Weight In.”

This kind of continued commitment makes a real, lasting difference to the young people we support, and we simply couldn’t do what we do without people like Hayley and the entire team. Your kindness, dedication, and belief in our cause means more than words can express.

Thank you for standing with us, for going above and beyond, and for showing such genuine care for young people facing cancer. You should all feel so proud of what you’ve achieved — we certainly are! 🌟

Here’s to celebrating you and the difference you’re making every single day 💛

Let us introduce you to these wonderful women, raising funds and awareness for Teenage Cancer Trust through a huge Charity Challenge coming up next month! So far they have fundraised an incredible £1,500. We're with you every step of the way, Mums on the Run, thank you for supporting Teenage Cancer Trust!

"We're a team of mums (always on the run!) — and that’s exactly how our team name was born! 🏃‍♀️💨 We completed the challenge back in 2024 and we're the first all female team.

On 16th May, we’ll be taking on the Samworth Brothers Charity Challenge in Edale, Derbyshire. It’s a tough combo of mountain biking, hiking, kayaking and orienteering… and with all those Derbyshire hills, it’s going to be a real test of grit and teamwork! 🚴‍♂️🥾🚣‍♀️

We’re raising money for Teenage Cancer Trust, a charity chosen by our colleague after witnessing first hand the incredible support they provide to young people facing cancer. ❤️

Every donation, share, and kind message means the world to us — thank you!"

💙 We are so incredibly grateful to Steve, Rach and their family, who have raised thousands of pounds for Teenage Cancer Trust in loving memory of Harry 💙

Since 2024, Steve and his local community have come together in such a heartfelt way to raise funds in Harry’s name — creating a truly special legacy that is helping young people with cancer and their families ✨

Most recently, their wonderful ‘Glitz and Glam’ event raised an amazing £3,000! 🎉🥂

These fundraising efforts are supporting Rach and Stan as they work towards their incredible London Marathon 2026 fundraising target of £10,000 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️💪

We are so proud of the love, time and dedication that has gone into both the fundraising and marathon training so far, and so thankful for their continued support ❤️

Thank you to Steve, Rach, Stan and the whole community for honouring Harry’s memory in such a meaningful and inspiring way 💙
