‘With all the anxieties, sadness and hurt I’ve faced throughout the grief of my loss, it has helped ease my pain by keeping symbolic memories of my baby with a loving touch like my ring to show she is always with me each day💗

Meet Chinwe Ejiofor, a bereavement midwife at the Royal London Hospital.
"My role mainly, is to support women and their families who are going through the deeply difficult experience of pregnancy loss or the loss of their baby.
I provide compassionate care, guidance, and emotional support during these heart-breaking times, helping families navigate their grief and find moments of hope.
Apart from individual care, I am really passionate about advocating for better systems and practices within maternity services to ensure every woman’s experience is respected, supported, and heard. It is important to me that women and their family know there is a dedicated person/team here to stand with them, not just in their moments of loss but also in driving changes to improve care for all.
If you or someone you know ever needs support, please know that I and the team are here for you."

When I experienced my own loss nearly 11 years ago, weeks like this didn’t exist.
There was no space to feel seen, supported, or understood.
Being connected now surrounded by people who look like me and share similar experiences has made a profound difference.
That sense of acceptance matters.
Representation isn’t optional it’s essential.
Because when Black women are seen, heard, and supported, outcomes change.

Meet..... Nazmin, one of the incredible Specialist Midwives that Sister Circle works with in North East London.
Hi, i'm Nazmin,
i'm a specialist midwife for Maternal Mental Health Services, I work for Ocean and Tulip MMHS. I have been a midwife for over 15 yeas and i'm really passionate about women having positive birthing experiences. I offer additional support to women suffering from birth anxiety, this can be in the form of one to one work or in a workshop with others.
I offer sessions to help write specialist trauma informed birth plans to help women and birthing people to outline their worries and fears about labour and birth. My aim is to help people feel more confident going in to hospital by helping them advocate for themselves. I also run a workshop, again with the aim of increasing confidence by adding to people's knowledge about labour and
birth and adding to their stress coping skill sets.

Women have found strong and unexpected connection through their shared experience of loss, and that connection endures though the babies that couldn't stay but are now also together.
