Meet our speakers!

On Saturday 27 June at Somerset House, as part of London Climate Action Week, join us for a free in-depth panel discussion exploring how the arts can support an urgent transition away from fossil fuels and how principles of climate justice must shape that shift.

We’ll be joined by:

Our panel will be chaired by our Head of Programmes Taghrid Choucair-Vizoso.

Our Cultura Circular programme supported the art platform in advancing their climate action while combining art with community engagement to create a powerful catalyst for change. As a result, close to 20,000 people took part, and 90% of participating artists adopted more sustainable practices through the recent edition.

Here at JB we’ve been thinking about how AI shows up not only in our day-to-day work, but also in the work of the artists and organisations we collaborate with. Rather than viewing it as an unstoppable technology over which we have no control, we’ve been drawing inspiration from projects that imagine otherwise and develop approached to AI that are both ethical and ecologically sound.

We've decided to introduce a blog series on the topic to share our discoveries. We'll be exploring the environmental and ethical concerns arising from the use of this technology, how the sector is responding to these challenges, and what the future of AI in the arts might look like.

Our first blog in the series is out now and focuses on the ethical considerations of AI use >>
