“Easter is the feast of hope. This is the feast that says God will have the last word and that God’s final judgment is resurrection. God will turn all that we maim and destroy and hurt and punish into life and beauty.” - Richard Rohr 🐣

Today’s is a beautifully honest offering. This poignant piece of writing relays what the advent season is really like for the author. It is moving, as well as being packed with genuinely helpful ideas and the invitation to tune into what you need. Grab your drink of choice and take some time to read this, letting the words open up your own thoughts, feelings, needs and responses.

Lots of thanks to Cavyn who wrote this beautiful poem for today’s . I particularly love the reminder to ‘just be’ and that this means lots of different things to different people. What stands out for you?🎄

Yesterday was Transgender Day of Remembrance. A day which is about remembering the lives of trans and non-binary people which have been tragically lost due to violence, hatred, oppression and discrimination. This is also a day to acknowledge and celebrate trans and non-binary lives, to orient ourselves with equitable and inclusive values, and to think about what it truly means to be a friend, an advocate and an ally.
We share this poem by James McLain and we’re sure it will move you too.

We had a fantastic meet up over the weekend. Between the lively Electric Shuffle, the chill vibes at Arcadia Games, giant pizzas and excellent gelato, there was something for everyone.

Most importantly we just showed up for and with each other as our whole selves. There is beauty and power in genuine community.

In a world and society that can feel isolating and divisive at times, opportunities to seek support, to be together and to lean into one another are vital.

We reminded each other that we hold so much dignity and worth, through the treasuring of each other.

~~~~~
I've lived a full and varied life and there have been so many people along the way who have made it beautiful, joyous and worth the ride.
I needed you to make it clear
I needed you to know
I needed you to have less fear
I needed you to say so
I also lived a life afraid of being myself. I've lived a life where I always assumed I was in the wrong. One thing that came out of that was that it took so long for me to come out as bisexual.
I needed you to make it clear
I needed you to know
I needed you to have less fear
I needed you to say so
Over the years, lots of people have come in and out of my life for loads of reasons. That's part of life in lots of ways. The people I mourn the most are the ones I lost around that time.
I needed you to make it clear
I needed you to know
I needed you to have less fear
I needed you to say so
It's been over five years now, and I still feel those emotional wounds as if they were fresh and raw. I reverted to my internal working model of what I, others, and the world was like. I believed I'd always be unloveable.
I needed you to make it clear
I needed you to know
I needed you to have less fear
I needed you to say so
So I withdrew from folks if I couldnt be sure I'd feel safe, be accepted and live freely. I didn't yet have the words, or the confidence, to ask. I didn't have the energy to be a debate.
I needed you to make it clear
I needed you to know
I needed you to have less fear
I needed you to say so
Turns out that some people would've been delighted for me. Others still can't accept who I am and that might never change. I'm still wary when I meet new people, even though I've grown in confidence, because rejection always, always takes a toll.
I needed you to make it clear
I needed you to know
I needed you to have less fear
I needed you to say so
I now know that it's really important to be extra visibly, audible, tangibly inclusive. It should be a given, but for people who have known exclusion, hurt and fear, that's not our lived reality.
I needed you to make it clear
I needed you to know
I needed you to have less fear
I needed you to say so
I have realised that I have not always met my own ideals so I'm trying to do better as well. But if the cost for you is low and you don't find it emotionally risky to do so, please be loudly inclusive and don't wait to be asked.
I needed you to make it clear
I needed you to know
I needed you to have less fear
I needed you to say so
