The Wanstead Charity

The Wanstead Charity A local initiative to help support the homeless in the East London.

We're a bunch of volunteers that have come together determined to alleviate the issues of homelessness. The objective of The Corner House Project is to help those that are vulnerable, homeless and those in need of support and guidance. Our Goal is to help those more vulnerable in our society by means of donations, clothing, food and anything that is required, even if they decide to stay on the str

eets, it shouldn’t mean that they are denied help and clean clothes and food. We are based in Wanstead, London, England and surrounding area of Redbridge and Waltham Forest and help the local area and community by providing what’s needed and where via donations of clothing, bedding, food and whatever is needed. The aims and objectives of The Corner House Project (CHP) are to help relieve hardship and distress of those persons in need by reason of their social and economic circumstances, in particular those who are homeless or facing poverty, through a range of services including confidential guidance, support, donation help, food, contacts and to help encourage them to explore and develop their potential and their right to feel empowered to progress and help themselves and their circumstances and to work towards an end goal with those that we are supporting.

The Wanstead Charity are looking for one or two more volunteers (ideally with a car / van) to help us distribute food, toiletries and clothing in Walthamstow every other Tuesday evening. Meet 6.15, back by 8.30. An extra pair of hands or two would mean nobody has to go every time if they’re busy or just want a night off. Perks include occasional out-of-date chocolates and back street tours of E17!

Please send me Christelle Louw for more information x

We had so much fun with you all last night! 🎅🏼 ⭐️ We think we raised about £700 for The Wanstead Charity 🥳 Once again, huge thank you to Dennis Weeks from North London Loft Rooms for always convincing Santa to pay us a visit (!) and Steve from Parker Dairies for making this event possible. Not to mention Terry Tew Sound & Light for lending us their light and sound equipment - they are so flexible and accommodating! 🙏🏻 Shout out to Hannah Healey for making so much noise with her bell 🔔 - I reckon she’ll be getting a Christmas bonus from Santa this year! And elf Alex Laidler for stepping in last minute, little elf Frankie for bringing the mischief and Julie Moore for embracing the madness and helping with all the set up! 💪 Most of all, thank you all for turning up with so much festive cheer! 🎄 Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! ⭐️
