More photos from last night’s celebration with Ed thanking all of those people that helped the guys get to the start line of the race and safely home; coach Peak Dynamics Sandy Loder sharing his account of the challenges of creating the level of fitness needed to deliver the 8th fastest row across the Atlantic ever and Computacenter UK Group CEO Mike Norris hosting a very entertaining Q&A with the guys.

Thanks to all who attended and our sponsors and partners.

We were thrilled to see this great coverage of the team’s story in the Bournemouth Daily Echo
today!

The Echo is the local paper for Poole, which is the guys training base.

The before and after race shots of James, Ollie, Ed and Jos.

Some would argue that they look a bit healthier afterwards, with the beards and the tans and definitely not like they’d just rowed the Atlantic!

It’s slowly sinking in for the guys what they have achieved.

Not just completing the row, but being the 8th fastest (edit since we posted!!) of all time to row across the Atlantic is just incredible. Especially considering the conditions this year compared to previous years: the high winds, the storms, the 8 metre waves (not to mention being hit in the face by flying fish!)

Your generosity in supporting the team has also been pretty incredible! Over £217k raised for Starlight Children's Foundation so far. If you haven’t yet donated, please do so at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teamthiswayup

They received an amazing and raucous reception from their family and friends as well as the Atlantic Campaigns team and first place team OceanCats Atlantic Rowing

We are so proud of them - crossing The Atlantic in just 32 days!

They all looked in great shape but were looking forward to a burger and a proper bed!

The guys are so close to Antigua that they can see the coastline! They have eaten their last dehydrated meal, filtered their last sea water and taken their last nap in a cramped, hot cabin.

In just 3 hours they will be on dry land, reuniting with their families and letting this incredible achievement sink in.

They are due to arrive around 9.15pm local time/ 1.15am GMT. You can watch live on campaigns YouTube channel. Let’s cheer them in! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

As the team head into their final day at sea it’s a good time to remember why they are doing this challenge. The funds they are raising for Starlight Children's Foundation will bring fun and laughter to children with serious Illnesses and disabilities through days out and short breaks in specially adapted accommodation.

This doesn’t just benefit children like lewis and Luke who the guys met back in October on a football training day at England camp St. George’s Park; it also provides respite to parents like Donna and Keith, enabling them to just relax and enjoy being with their children.

Thank you to all those who have donated so far. If not, please support the team https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/teamthiswayup

The guys haven’t prepared for this race alone. They have had the expertise and care of Sports PHD students and team at University of Kent who usually work with pro athletes to help them prepare for competitions.

They have set the guys training plans, provided support and advice and run regular checks to make sure they were race-ready.

James Hopker, who leads the Department sent us this message, “It has been an honour to work with the team over the past year, helping them prepare for this extraordinary challenge. Throughout our time together, the team have shown hard work and dedication to improve their fitness for the challenge and everyone at the university wishes them all the best.”

We hope that they’ve made you proud James!

The guys have just 203 miles to go! Still expected to arrive in Antigua on Friday. We will keep you updated!

If you want to row fast across the Atlantic you have to keep the hull of the boat clean. So, here’s Ed in the water, removing the barnacles. But don’t worry, the guys stay clipped onto the boat for safety when they are in the water and the others are on watch duty for sharks and marlin!

That said, the guys are still making good headway and have just (!) 500 miles to go until they arrive at English Harbour.

We would love to greet them with great news about fundraising for Starlight Children's Foundation so, if you can spare even £30, it really would make a difference to children receiving hospital treatment for their illnesses. Link in linktree in bio.

Thank you!
