A few memories made on Sunday 26th with the Annual Seaside Trip to Margate for the Lister and HD unit. A lovely fun day in the sun at the seaside was had by all.

Yesterday we got to thank Alan Beeton properly for last year's captain of the S.A.D. golf group and who nominated LAKPA as his charity for his captain year because his father-in-law Stewart Goldsmith is a dialysis patient at the St Albans dialysis unit and the family wanted to recognise the wonderful care he receives. The group raised over £1,000 to sponsor and organise a lovely afternoon tea and theatre organ demonstration at St Albans organ theatre in April. We are so grateful and wanted to make a formal acknowledgement of all the work he and the group put in as can be seen from the photos here

A big thank you to Tracey from Waitrose Hitchin branch who helped LAKPA become one of the 3 charities they support this month with their green token scheme. Tracey visited Lister this week and was shown around the dialysis ward and met staff caring for our kidney patients. Tracey messaged us later and said "I was fortunate to have a tour of the Lister renal unit today. I met the incredible Karen Harding, who pours her heart and soul into supporting kidney patients. She has built a wonderful rapport with the nursing and hospital staff, working to improve the mental and social wellbeing of patients across the unit. Despite using a wheelchair and needing dialysis 3 times a week, her dedication to helping others is truly inspiring.

Thank you so much to the S.A.D. golf group and to the Goldsmith family who raised the money to sponsor a lovely afternoon tea and theatre organ demonstration yesterday afternoon at St Albans organ theatre because Stewart Goldsmith is a dialysis patient at the St Albans dialysis unit and the family wanted to recognise the wonderful care he receives there. Stewart's son-in law was S.A.D. golf captain last year and put in place a series of lighthearted 'fines' for all their golfing events to fully fund this tea. It meant we were able to have a lovely afternoon and who doesn't love a proper afternoon tea with music from the beautiful old instruments? As a further bonus, the organ theatre donated £50 from their booking fee to LAKPA. Thank you everyone, we are so grateful
