That phrase. The one we’ve heard in corridors and classrooms.
“Look at me when I’m talking to you.”

It gets explained away as behaviour. Or fixed with cultural awareness.

This blog asks a sharper question.
What if we’re just arguing over the culturally appropriate way to dominate children?

We’ve been accused (fairly) of being a bit… direct in our blogs.

This one? Slightly softer. But still asking the question:
What kind of power are schools teaching young people to use?

We share the Equitree framework from our embedded pilot affirmation, community, critical thinking, and democracy, and what happened when students used it to reimagine their school rules.

Spoiler: they didn’t choose chaos. They chose fairness.

When it comes to harm, identities collude to produce negative outcomes. But when it comes to “solutions,” they’re pitted against each other.

Who gets funding? Who gets policy attention? Who gets to be seen as worthy of support?

This isn’t about fixing young people—it’s about fixing systems.
