💙 YOUR DONATIONS MADE THIS POSSIBLE 💙

Thanks to the generosity of our community, Whittington Health Charity funded 24 sleeper chairs for wards across the hospital.

These chairs quickly convert into comfortable beds, allowing relatives to stay at a patient’s bedside when they need them most. For patients, especially those living with dementia, having a familiar face nearby can provide comfort and reassurance during a difficult time.

The chairs were delivered to our Care of Older People, Maternity, Respiratory and Cardiology wards in January and are already making a meaningful difference for patients and families.

✨ Our Nightingale mosaic project is complete! ✨

We recently shared our Nightingale mosaic project, and we’re thrilled to say it has now been completed and is proudly displayed outside the Nightingale Ward!

Projects like this are about so much more than creating beautiful artwork. Collaborative activities like these can have a really positive impact on team morale, staff wellbeing, and the hospital environment and patient experience.

The finished mosaic will have a lasting impact on both patients and staff, helping create a more welcoming and uplifting space for everyone who passes through the ward. 💙

Last month’s annual Staff Awards recognised the exceptional achievements and dedication of colleagues across the Trust, with nearly 300 nominations received across a range of categories, including ‘Outstanding Compassion’, ‘Commitment to Excellence’, and the ‘Charitable Fundraiser of the year’.

Our Life Force team delivers care to children with life-limiting and terminal illnesses. Each year, Whittington Health Charity funds their Memory Day, which is an opportunity for bereaved families to come together and remember their loved ones. The day is hugely beneficial to grieving families as it’s an opportunity for them to share their experiences and talk about their child in a safe and supported environment. Siblings join in by creating memory boxes and hanging keepsakes on the Life Force memory tree in a nearby park, where the Life Force bench is also located. This year, the event was supported by a grant from Cash for Kids.

We’re pleased to announce that we will be funding Sing for Your Lungs for another year!

This wonderful weekly group brings together people living with respiratory conditions to take part in breathing exercises and singing sessions led by musical therapists.

The feedback from participants has been overwhelmingly positive, with many sharing the positive impact the sessions have had on both their symptoms and mental wellbeing.

We’re proud to continue supporting a programme that helps people build confidence, connection and wellbeing through music.

We’re thrilled to have secured a grant from Sport England which enables us to continue funding our Parkinson’s Walking Football sessions for another year in partnership with in the Community.

These sessions have a huge impact on those living with Parkinson’s, supporting both physical and mental wellbeing through:
✨ Gentle physical activity
✨ Improved mobility and balance
✨ A supportive social network
✨ Guest speakers and shared experiences

It’s wonderful to see the confidence, friendships and community that continue to grow through this programme.

A little sneak peek of our courtyard garden from a bird’s eye view…

We’re so excited to share progress on this beautiful new space, which is currently taking shape and is due for completion by late July.

This garden will have a truly transformational impact on our patients, creating a calm, restorative environment to support wellbeing and recovery.
