Many thanks to c.100 Vauxhall Gardens Estate residents and tenants who came to our Festive Event last week!

Every one of you has helped to make this a great event with your enthusiasm.

We had a fun evening through the various activities from the wreath making to face painting and the festive 'SoundChoir' sing-along.

Whether it’s the strength of the Windrush Generation or the resilience of Q***r communities, UPRISING celebrates activism, impact and resistance.

This festival honours the legacy of Brixton and explores contemporary Black British life and culture alongside tributes to locals including Cherry Groce, Alex Wheatle and Pearl Alcock.

Brixton House also has limited places remaining for their Pay What You Feel workshops, open to all.

Food Bank at Vernon Hall

The Soul Shack LDN will be at Vernon Hall (SE11 5LQ) giving away fruits and vegetables from 1-8pm every Friday in August from 8th (i.e. the dates are 8th, 15th, 22nd and 29th).

Creative Sparkworks is looking to recruit young Lambeth residents aged 16-19 (or up to 25 with SEND) for their latest Summer Programme starting on 28th July - 29th August.

This programme will include hands on experience with Film, TV and digital Media industry experts in film-making, podcasting and digital media, SFX Make-up and Music Video production.

The course will be AQA accredited and young people will leave with a portfolio and valuable experience as well as contacts within the industry and professional development as well as ongoing employment support.

*SAVE THE DATE - Next Met Ward Meeting - 21st Oct 2025*

The venue for the next ward panel meeting is now confirmed to be at the Coade Building on Vauxhall Walk.

Meeting time will be on Tuesday 21st October 2025 - 1830hrs until 1930hrs.

Please spread the word to other residents who would benefit from attending the meeting.
