✨ We’re finalists! ✨

We’re so proud to share that Resonate Arts’ Creative Space team has been shortlisted for the Creative Arts and Culture in Dementia Award at the 2026 Dementia Care Awards 🎉

Our Art and Movement Creative Space groups are built around creating warm, emotionally safe, supported and non‑judgemental places where people living with dementia can move, make, play, laugh and be themselves and are recognised and valued as artists and creators.

One participant summed it up beautifully:
💬 “Beginning with nothing — everyone brings something. We all put something in.”

Being recognised as finalists celebrates not just our incredible team of staff, artists and volunteers but the courage, generosity and creativity of everyone who makes Creative Space what it is. Thank you to our participants, partners and supporters — we’re proud to share this moment with you 💛

Massive shout out to the Creative Space team: Shelley, Katie, Georgia, Maxine, Liwen, Fauve, Anya, Amaranta, Claudia, Ruby, Karla, Rhian, Melissa, Fernanda, Damara, Damla, Nicole, Emily, Yuhe, Anna, Wenjia, Rachel, AK, Balca, Imane, Ozge. And to partners Penfold Age Well Centre and Regent Hall who provide space, support and care for our community.

💛 Thank you everyone who donated to our Big Give campaign recently💛

Thanks to your generosity, care and encouragement, our Big Give Arts for Impact campaign raised an incredible £6,405 — exceeding our £6,300 target. We’re so grateful to every single person who donated, shared, commented, cheered us on or told a friend.

This support means the world to our Singing with Friends choir — a warm, welcoming community where people living with dementia and their companions come together to sing, connect, laugh and feel uplifted.

One choir member shared:

“It is very invigorating and exciting… I sing the songs when doing the dishes and walking around my house. It lifts my spirits.”

Because of you, those moments of joy, confidence and connection will continue. Thank you for believing in the power of music, friendship and community. 🎶💛

We had a wonderful session experimenting with collograph printing in Creative Space last month - using tactile materials we created sensory artworks and played with block colours to make our prints - with some stunning and original results! And with live music from group member Euron we welcomed in the spring 🌱🌿. Led by artist Rhian Sutcliffe with support from our amazing volunteers.

⏰ We’re in the final 24 hours of our Big Give campaign!

We’ve raised £4,010 so far — thank you to everyone who has donated, shared or supported. Your generosity means the world to us and to the wonderful singers of Singing with Friends.

Our target is £6,300, and we have one day left to reach it.

Every donation is still MATCHED until midday tomorrow, meaning your gift goes twice as far.

To understand why this choir matters so much, here’s a message from one of our choir members:

“It is very invigorating and exciting... I sing the songs when doing the dishes and walking around my house. I can't wait for the next session. It lifts my spirits.”

This is the power of Singing with Friends — a space where people living with dementia and their companions can sing, laugh, connect, and feel uplifted each week.

💛 If you can, please help us reach the finish line:

Huge thanks to music therapist Fiona Pritchard for running a music workshop for our brilliant Creative Befriender volunteers last night and to all those who came along to participate. We had lots of fun exploring music as a tool to engage and support our befriendees living with dementia and plenty of playful interactions using percussion, feathers and scarves 🎵🪇🥁🪘🎵

🌟 Day 2 of our Big Give campaign! 🌟

Today we want to share the real impact of our Singing with Friends choir — in the words of someone who sings with us each week:

“I like to dance with the music, I like to move. We have a lot of confidence because the energy is so strong here… we are given the potential to go for it with our voices.” – Choir member

This is what Singing with Friends is all about: joy, movement, connection, confidence and the sheer pleasure of making music together. For people living with dementia, these moments are powerful — they lift spirits, reduce isolation and build community.

And this week, you can help us keep that energy flowing.
From now until midday 24 March, every donation is DOUBLED through the Big Give.

🎉 We’re LIVE! 🎉

Our Big Give Arts for Impact campaign is officially open — and for one week only, every donation to our Singing with Friends choir will be DOUBLED from today until midday Tuesday 24 March! 💛💙

Singing with Friends is no ordinary choir. It’s a warm, uplifting community where people living with dementia — and their companions — come together to breathe, laugh, connect and, of course, sing their hearts out. A single song can brighten an entire week.

And we’re so excited to share our brand‑new video, featuring choir members talking about what the choir means to them. Their words say it better than we ever could.

👉 Watch the video & donate (your gift will be doubled):

We played with different techniques using charcoal and soft pastels at our bustling Creative Space Art group this month. Practicing shading, transfer, sketching shells and landscapes, and adjusting the colour with battery powered erasers! Feedback from our group members included 'Thanks - we are all now artful dodgers!' 'It's been a landscape for the soul' and 'I've learnt so much, really inspiring'. Led by artist , with live music from talented group member Euron.
