Join us for a special webinar on Tuesday 16th June
6pm UK | 7pm South Africa | 8pm Palestine

"The histories of our two peoples, Palestinian and South African, correspond in such painful and poignant ways." Nelson Mandela, 1999

On 16th June 1976, thousands of Black school children took to the streets of Soweto to protest against apartheid education. The uprising that followed changed the course of South African history — and sent a message to the world that young people would not accept injustice in silence.

This year marks 50 years since that extraordinary act of courage.

On Tuesday 16th June, Amos is marking the anniversary with a special webinar bringing together speakers from South Africa and Palestine. Together, we'll be exploring the role of young people in the struggle against apartheid in both countries — and the unfinished business of delivering the change that so many campaigned and died for.

The connections between these two struggles feel as urgent now as they ever have. We hope you'll join us.

They buried him under concrete… a young man from , trapped beneath the rubble of war and cruelty.

Even after death, the occupation denied him dignity, covering his body with cement as if trying to erase his existence.

This is not just destruction.
This is brutality beyond words.

In Gaza, people are not only fighting to survive — they are fighting to be remembered as human beings.

How much more horror must this world witness before it chooses humanity?

A Taste of Palestine in Bristol
If you're in Bristol this June, we'd love you to join us for an evening of food, community and solidarity.

On Wednesday 24th June, A Taste of Palestine returns to the beautiful setting of Redcatch Community Garden in Knowle for its third year — and we can't wait.

Palestinian chef and Amos team member Sally Azzam will once again be cooking a delicious summer feast using seasonal ingredients in the lovely outdoor setting. It's a chance to gather, eat well, hear about our work in Palestine and explore ways to get more involved in meaningful action and community solidarity.

All funds raised will support our West Bank partner, Tent of Nations — the Nasser family farm south-west of Bethlehem, which is being steadily crowded out by surrounding settlement outposts, facing crop destruction, restricted access to their own land and relentless legal challenges.

This year, we're raising funds for an olive press so the family can continue to harvest their olives and produce olive oil — a practice at the very heart of Palestinian culture and identity.

— Wednesday 24 June | 6:30pm – 9pm
— Redcatch Community Garden, Knowle, Bristol BS4 2RD
— Tickets: £30 standard / £15 concession plus booking fees

Come along and stand with Palestine. Visit https://www.amostrust.org/taste-of-palestine-bristol-2026 for full details.

Bath Half, Hackney Half and more — sign up for Team Amos 2027

Want to run for Palestine, climate justice or gender justice in 2027? We've got race places — and they're going fast.

We've secured spots for some of the UK's most popular races next spring and summer, including the Bath Half 2027 — already sold out on general entry — and the Hackney Half 2027, for which we've just picked up a limited number of highly sought-after places.

Set yourself a challenge, train with a purpose and raise vital funds for Amos Trust's work in Palestine, climate justice or gender justice.

As Ingrid, who ran the Big Half in 2024, put it: "Whilst all the horror is taking place in the West Bank and Gaza, it feels good to do something positive. We must keep going and never give up advocating for Palestinians!"

Our fundraising team will be with you every step of the way — from sign-up to finish line.

Can't find a race that suits you? Get in touch with Megan at [email protected] and we'll do our best to find you a place elsewhere in the UK.

Visit our challenge events page to sign up. https://www.amostrust.org/take-on-a-challenge

The mountain won't wait.
And neither will Gaza's children.

On 27th May, Anne M Jones — 84 years old, retired social worker and psychotherapist — will clip into her pedals at the foot of Alpe d'Huez and begin the ride of her life.

She has form. In 2024, she climbed Mont Ventoux, horrified by what she was witnessing in Gaza. In 2025, she took on the Tourmalet, the highest paved pass in the Pyrenees. Each time, she rode not for personal glory, but for Gaza's children. This time is no different.

Anne said, "I'm excited and honoured to be cycling alongside the Gaza Sunbirds. Training is going steadily — I just wish there were more hours in the day! I was so boosted by meeting so many well-wishers at the recent Nakba Day march. It was a day filled with such a peaceable spirit."

Joining Anne alongside the Amos Road Club are Palestinian para-cyclists Alaa al-Dali and Mohammed Asfour from the Gaza Sunbirds, who left Gaza in 2025 to represent Palestine on the world stage. Alaa became the first Palestinian ever to compete in the Cycling World Championship. Their families remain in Gaza.

Alpe d'Huez has 21 hairpin bends, each named after a Tour de France legend. Anne is riding every single one — each bend representing £1,000 of her £21,000 target.

Gaza's children haven't been able to go to school since October 2023. They're living in tents on the coast, facing food and water shortages and carrying trauma that most of us can barely imagine. Every pound Anne raises goes to trauma support, tent schools and wraparound care for the most seriously injured.

Anne has already raised over £50,000 for Gaza's children. Help her go further. Please donate at https://www.amostrust.org/anne-jones-2026

One hairpin at a time — Anne M Jones, 84, is riding Alpe d’Huez for Gaza.

There are 21 hairpin bends on Alpe d'Huez. Each one is named after a Tour de France stage winner. And for Anne M Jones — 84 years old, retired social worker and psychotherapist — each one represents £1,000 she's determined to raise for Gaza's children this May.

Anne knows what it takes. In 2024, she climbed Mont Ventoux, horrified by what she was witnessing in Gaza. In 2025, she climbed the Tourmalet — the highest paved pass in the Pyrenees. Now she's taking on the greatest climb of them all.

"With a fragile ceasefire in place in Gaza, humanitarian needs are rising as hardships tighten their grip. The children of Gaza show extraordinary courage and need all the support they can get — so I'm riding for them." Anne M Jones

This year, Anne won't be riding alone. Joining her alongside the Amos Road Club are Palestinian para-cyclists Alaa al-Dali and Mohammed Asfour from the Gaza Sunbirds, who evacuated Gaza in 2025 to represent Palestine on the world stage. Alaa became the first Palestinian to compete in the Cycling World Championship. Their families remain in Gaza.

Anne has already raised over £50,000 for Gaza's children. Her target this year is £21,000 — one hairpin at a time.

Every pound goes to Amos Trust's partners in Gaza — running trauma support for children and families, operating tent schools (93% of Gaza's schools are now unusable), and providing wraparound care for those receiving treatment for war injuries in Lebanon.

Help Anne reach the top.
