SMILING STARS CARE PACKAGE😁⭐️📦

To bring smiles for the boys we have already assisted, smiling stars sent a care package to jaffna.

Clothing, toys, and food have been placed in the care package for the boys, and we will update everyone once they have received it.

I want to thank everyone who has kindly donated and shown support because this would not be possible without your help.

Thank you to everyone who so generously donated to help us improve the lives of these young boys in Jaffna, Sri Lanka, who have Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

We have raised an astounding £6.7k and are almost £300 away from surpassing our goal, which would greatly aid us in continuing to put smiles on the boys' faces.

On the 23rd of April, we helped a boy named Sapith aged 9 who has recently been diagnosed by DMD. He has lost ability to walk or stand and has to be carried by his mum to go to school and move around.

Sapith's arm function has become restricted making it difficult to feed himself. Day by day it has been getting difficult for Sapith to do everyday tasks as the condition gets worse.

With the support and donations that was kindly made we were able to provide Sapith a wheelchair and a bed as he was sleeping on the floor and urgently needed a bed to help give more comfort and support so Sabith can get good sleep.

We also had a friendly chat with Sapith and he was very happy to know he has people to help support his needs and make him smile. He also has dreams of becoming a doctor we hope to follow him on this journey and help him fulfill his dreams.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Boys often have weak bones especially when being on steroids to slow the progress of DMD.

It is important to have the right amount of Vitamin D to make sure the bones are stronger to help protect from fractures and to strengthen the spine.

We had provided Vitamin Supplements for the boys to take daily to improve their bone health and ensure they are protected from fractures.
