It is our sad duty to announce the passing of one of our own.

Flight Sergeant Jason Phillips of 338 (West Ham) Squadron, Royal Air Force Air Cadets has sadly passed.

Jason was a huge part of London Wing, starting as a Cadet at 444 (Shoreditch) Squadron before returning as an adult instructor at 296 (Stoke Newington) Squadron before moving on to West Ham.

He leaves behind his Wife Karen, an active Civilian Committee member at 338 and his Sons James, an adult Instructor at 329 (Finsbury) Squadron and Thomas a Cadet Warrant Officer at 296 (Stoke Newington) Squadron.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Karen, James and Tom, as well as all of the Cadets and CFAVs he has had an impact on during his many years of Service.

Stand Easy Flight Sergeant Jason Phillips. Blue Skies.

Today was the finale of for 1830, finishing on a huge high with our joint cadet Remembrance Parade Practice.

Cadets from the Clacton branch of Army Cadets UK St John Youth England and National Volunteer Police Cadets team joined together to practice marching, singing, banner bearing and all the other roles that come with remembrance.

Our new Parade Marshal Mr Sawyer joined the group of volunteers from across Essex to train our young people, thank you to all the great people who today couldn’t have been possible without!

A fabulous BBQ spending time with our wider cadet families was a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the end of the inaugural National Cadet Week.

This evening six members of 1830 were treated by the Clacton Arts and Literary society to watch the RAF Regiment band at the Princes Theatre.

Both cadets & staff have been inspired and were thrilled with the variety of music performed.
