'I started out as an architect. At a crossroads, an opportunity came up to transition into creative technology. I took it, and it changed my life. But not the questions I was asking. Those just got bigger.

Architecture teaches you to read space. Who it was designed for. What it assumes about the person walking through the door. A corridor is never just a corridor. The height of a sign, the width of a doorway, the acoustics of a room — all decisions about whose experience matters, whether the designer thought about it or not.....'

Sharjah Art Foundation’s SFP9 Short Film Production Grant is now open for applications!

Independent filmmakers from around the world are invited to apply for funding support for unfinished short films under 50 minutes, with selected projects set to premiere at a future edition of Sharjah Film Platform.

Applications close on 28 May 2026.

These talented individuals bring fresh energy, diverse expertise, and a shared passion for African storytelling, innovation, culture, and positive change.

Meet the newest members of our crew:

Gordon – A Ghanaian Business Administration graduate with a strong interest in marketing, digital strategy, and community impact. He is passionate about leveraging technology and innovation to drive positive change across the continent.

– A Nigerian lawyer and AI digital storyteller with a deep love for music and art. She is also the Creative Director at The Avés Métier (a fashion accessories brand), and an alumna of the HarvardX CopyrightX program and the Creative Business Academy for Africa (CBAFA).

– A Mastercard Foundation Scholar and current Master’s student in Development Studies at the University of the Western Cape. She has a strong background and keen interest in communications for social development.

A huge welcome you to Gordon, Ene, and Oluwaseyi for joining the mission! ❤️
