The Advocacy Academy have just released a 2027 calendar on Etsy to celebrate 40 years of the international AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power (ACT UP) movement.

Each month features a classic photograph from the international ACT UP movement, with more than 250 dates charting its protests, actions, people, and turning points. It’s a year of plans with 40 years of people power behind it. The calendar costs £15, with all profits supporting their Fund Healthcare not Warfare campaign.

Sudan Emergency Response Rooms nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize for the 3rd year in a row 🎉

That’s right, Sudan's grassroots humanitarian response that we have the absolute pleasure of fiscally hosting has been rightfully recognised again for supporting communities living through the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.

With around 26,000 local volunteers, Sudan ERR’s are rooted in community leadership, collective responsibility, and local participation. This mutual aid model has helped to turn humanitarian work – and people’s perceptions of how to effectively deliver it – on its head.

🚨Are you a tower block resident wanting to share your experience?

Tower Blocks UK have just launched a new national survey looking at the issues residents are experiencing in tower blocks across the country, and how well existing rights, protections and routes to getting problems resolved are working in practice.

They'd love to hear about your experience, anything from repairs, damp and mould and building safety concerns, to difficulties getting clear information, knowing your rights or getting action when something goes wrong.

The aim is to build a clearer picture of what is happening nationally, identify recurring problems and gaps, and use the findings to help inform our future work. We’ll publish the findings next spring.

'Weaving Community Knowledge on Moving Money together' was just one of the many insightful workshops that was hosted at our Wild Times Gathering, hosted by the amazing Natasha Friend from Camden Giving, Anjelica Finnegan from York Together and the PGM Community.

It explored participatory money movement, community decision making and governance, weaving everyone's experiences, questions, challenges and ideas into a shared loom.

We’re still getting our ecstatic thoughts together after the whirlwind that was The Wild Times Gathering, but what we are so happy, our cups are full! A huge thank you to all attendees for coming, sharing, being so kind and open and really making the day what it was. And another big thank you to our speakers, facilitators and staff, who helped to make the day a success 🚀✨

What a joy to be together with everyone, with such different experiences but a common purpose, all making connections, participating in activities, exchanging ideas and knowledge. We’ll be sharing insights and reflections once we’ve had a bit more time to celebrate.
